Myles Garrett plays in the SEC west, not the east. We don't get three free wins a year.

At PFF, we factor in all aspects of the game, and while we acknowledge that Garrett’s pass rushing is by far the most important part of his Heisman campaign,

I love this argument. You are completely obvlivious to the fact that MG has had the majority of his sacks against weak OOC competition while the overwhelming majority of Barnett's stats have come against SEC opponents. Remember that freshman SEC sack record he set? 9 of his 11 sacks that season came against Lamar, rice, ULM, and South Carolina.

And what does win/loss record have to do with DE production exactly?

I was making a point that playing Vandy, Kentucky, and SC every year, y'all get more opportunities to pad stats than we do.

My point is that Garrett gets the majority of his production against inferior OOC opponents so it really doesn't matter what division he plays in

Fair point. though he did increase hat last year and I expect he will this year as well.

Upvoted for not saying a "dominate" year.

He will go top 3 in the draft and be making pro bowls and people on this board will still be claiming he sucks

It's basically everyone besides posters on here that think this

And that's why places like pff continue to grade him out as the best defensive player in football based entirely off his play

Not even that, just LSU and tenner posters

Derek Barnett plays like shite against App State Va Tech and Ohio and apparently that's a good thing

Maybe a few snaps, but he's been on the outside the significant majority. We bring pressure behind him constantly to take advantage of the extra attention he needs blocking wise
He lined up inside on several plays in the Arkansas game. It changed how the Hogs ran the play. The guy is a force on defense. Period.
