My take on the CFP ranking - they are sending an early warning to the SEC

Only one SEC team is getting into the CFP.

IF LSU handles it’s business with A&M and gets to Atlanta undefeated and IF UGA beats GT then only one of them can make it the CFP. As noted in earlier threads, they had to drop LSU to #2 to justify dropping them completely out of the top four if they should lose in the SECCG. They will be replaced by a one loss conference champion (whomever that might be). And with two losses UGA is an easy drop and (again) replacement by a one loss conference champion. I know that is not how Bama sees it but that is how I read the situation.

Yes that could be the case.

They want Hurts and OU vs Bama and they want Joe Burrow vs Ohio State. Everyone, including the committee can see that Clemson is soft as baby poo

LSU is in even with a good loss in the SECCG. Only way they’re out is a multi TD loss to UGA. That’s not happening. If UGA wins a close game then SEC should have two teams in the CFP.

It’s definitely what they are doing, how else do you explain them moving Baylor up five spots for beating a garbage Texas team.

Yeah but I don’t see how you could leave a 1 SECC loss LSU out and let a 1 loss to S. Caro UGA team in despite a conference champ. That makes no sense. They’d both have to be in there

The SEC is pushing for Alabama to be included, which flexes well with their desire for LSU to beat UGA.

However...if Auburn beats Bama and UGA beats LSU, FER SURE 1 SEC team will go, maybe 2 (LSU). That one team will be UGA; and, depending upon how badly the Dawgs whip the Tigers (you know, something like a...SHUTOUT), LSU would be 2.

I would feel the same way except for the bizarre movement of Baylor et al. Something is going on. Why are these teams making huge moves? Their SOS is not changing.

Bama is done. If OU or Utah wins out. Period.

If LSU loses to UGA, LSU deserves the #4 spot.

They just want to match the two best teams in the NC. And LSU ain’t one of them.

their schedule, yes. Did they start slow, yes. Did they play down a couple of times, yes.

But, they are peaking at the right time and focusing on the tasks at hand. They are a solid team with CFP prep experience.

I think tOSU and LSU are crazy talented and could beat any team in the country. But, in a 2 game playoff scenario, given the Clemson talent and coaching experience, I think they will be the team to beat. Or, at least the toughest first round draw by far.
