Alabama has lost 3 games once in 13 years Skippy. Recruiting rankings isn't a problem. It's already documented for you.

A QB that has done nothing prior to Saturday, so claiming they are talented and well coached is a bit of a stretch.

I'll give you QB thing but A&M was preseason #7 and Jimbo Fisher has won a national championship. I don't think it's much of a stretch to say they have some talent and a coach that is capable of using it on a given day. A&M may not win another game all season but they won the one that Jimbo Fisher had circled on his calendar.

I think Bama has had some recruiting gaffes on the defensive side of the ball

I think this is fair and has been likewise pointed out by fans.

Regarding the recent revolving door of assistant coaches, not all of them got it right on the recruiting end, especially on the defensive side.

Remember the #1 overall prospect in the 2019 class, Antonio Alfano?

I think they'll be fine, but yeah, there were some definite misses.

Bama lost to a pretty talented team with a good coach

If someone would have said this last Thursday or Friday they would have gotten laughed off the board.

I think OP hit the nail on the head

Here's the best explanation I've read about what's finally manifesting itself at Alabama and the reasons for it (very logical)...

Why would you call me Skippy? I think we are in agreement that sometimes the players are not quite as talented as made out to be. I don't think that's all the problem and only part of the problem.
We can also get into coaching and also into coaching turnover. There are many variables that weigh in and not just one. Calling me Skippy is juvenile.

I agree. Hopefully leadership rises up out of this loss. Sometimes it takes a failure to do that sort of thing.

They were only preseason #7 because of the Covid season. Most teams hung up the year by midseason. Jimbo drove FSU into the ashes and this win is the only thing that saved him from a 5 loss season.

That's a good article but it doesn't complete the equation. Alabama has had to replace more coordinators and position coaches than any team that hasn't fired them all for cause.

That article may not age as well as UGa fans hope. Just saying that 4 of Nick's championships have been in 1 loss seasons. The 2nd beibg a loss to A&M.

Just seems like this team is living off the past teams accomplishments. They came back and then just gave it away because to your point they have no leaders.
