My mistake, it wasn't actually pass interference

I've been digging into the NCAA guidelines rule book .pdf and have discovered something pretty interesting.
This:
(Arrow inidcates ball location)
was not pass interference because the defensive player had already engaged the offensive receiver while the ball was in the air and less than 10 ft. away from the receiever.
If the ball had been, let's say, 25 yards away from the intended receiver when the Bama player got clobbered by the Georgia player, then it would have been pass interference.
My mistake for thinking Alabama got a bad call here. Good game, Georgia.

You have put a lot of effort into this melt.
For your own mental health, I suggest you put the keyboard up for a few days.

I'm not melting, I'm congratulating Georgia, idiot. Can't you read?
I also want to commend the Georgia player that speared Ryan Williams in the head too. When the Georgia player left the ground to direct the crown of his helmet into Ryan William's face as another Georgia player held him motionless with his arms wrapped around him, that saved Ryan Williams life.
Far from being targeting, it was a life saving measure because the Georgia player redirected the direction William's head was falling when it lightly touched the ground.
If the Georgia player had not hit the defenseless, wrapped up player as hard as he did, William's momentum would have caused him to hit the ground much harder and hurt himself even worse.
Good no call.

I'm just reading the rule-book and posting facts. As long as the ball is in the air and is not too close to a receiver, that receiver can be literally knocked down to prevent him from catching the ball.

Thanks, 3down10. This was in fact a good no call and it didn't have any effect on the outcome of the game at all.
If you notice, one Georgia player was wrapping his arms around Williams trying to not let him hurt himself by falling and the other Georgia player that speared him with all the force of his body, was trying to prevent Williams from falling down too by applying a counteracting force.
The referees got this one right.
Just because it "appeared" his neck was likely broken as his head kind of bobbled around in mid-air as he finally fell to the ground, it was really the mean, hard, ground that caused the injury.

Don't forget the guy who saved our running back the money a chiropractor would charge to pop his neck when he ripped his facemask/helmet off

Great catch! How about this? Was it pass interference, or no? I'm waiting on your breakdown.

Never thought I would see a day when Bama fans see what it feels like to be on the short end of the stick. Saban and Bama benefited from iffy calls going against their opponents and non-calls against themselves for over a decade. 1/8 of Sabans wins came on the back of that kind of extremely biased officiating. Their fans grew so entitled to the biased officiating they benefited from and now they have no clue how to handle it when they are the victim.
This is glorious!! All Bama fans, we want more of the melts! Please don’t stop!

That looks more like UGA targeting UGA rather than UGA targeting Bama.
His facemask graze the bama player's helmet. His helmet plowed into his teammate's noggin.

I had forgotten about that; thanks for reminding me. That no call had no effect on the game either, you know, because Georgia had all day to pass the ball and had some pretty good runs and receptions, etc...
