Doesn't matter for UGA in this case b/c they won the SEC. If you handle business in conference, the OOC games don't matter.

In a fair world that tech game should count as a loss.

By your standards, the SEC will rarely get more than 3 teams in.

I think you're starting to grasp it now

That's exactly the case. The SEC teams will be favored to win the playoffs, because they emerge from the conference more tested. But there won't be a lot.

Look at the AP poll. The Big 10 has 5 teams ranked, you could make an argument for Iowa (8-4). 4 of those teams will be in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the SEC has 7 teams ranked, with arguments for LSU and Texas A&M (8-4). Only 3 get in.
Ole Miss and/or South Carolina get in, if LSU was 6-6 instead of 8-4. LSU might get in if A&M and Florida weren't at least decent and dangerous on the road.

However, Alabama still would have gotten in if they simply took care of business. The committee WANTED to take them, they had them set up as the last at-large. But since Bama dropped 2 games they should have won comfortably, they could not afford any upsets... you can't drop SMU from 8th all the way out, when they come within a 56 yd FG of going to overtime in their conference championship. They needed SMU to either win, or get completely destroyed. When that didn't happen, Bama was out.

Bama and probably Ole Miss would be in if not for absolutely horrible losses.

11-2 with the #1 SOS. SEC champs in the playoffs with a bye. You take a lap, ReliaQuest boy.

Everyone acting like they are some sort of bad arse this year, and that's not the case at all.

Hell, Mizzou beat 2 of the teams that beat Bama.

GTFO with this bullshite.

If we kick arse in the playoff and bowl season it’ll shift again. Can’t rely on Texas because they’re soft and will embarrass us all.

It is what it is. I think complaining about my team not getting the 12th seed is kinda lame so whatever. Moving forward, eliminate stupid committees and make an objective system to rank and seed the playoff

Texas finished the season with more losses to unconscious QB’s than ranked wins.

And, you lost head to head with BAMA. Still your Daddy after Saban. Good luck in the playoffs.

There’s only 8 potential spots available to SEC teams. How many do you expect to get in?

One is guaranteed, so that leaves 7 possible spots for SEC at large teams. The conference will get more than three when they have more than three that deserve it. This year that wasn’t the case.

All of this is true. The Ole Miss game was lost as soon as Shane went for it on his side of the 40. Team tried to recover, but couldn't build momentum.

The Ole Miss loss was the most unforgivable. To lose that way, at home, sealed all fates.
