Your defense was #1 in pretty much every statistical category last year. How much better are they going to get?

As disgusting as our 2 fan bases are to much of the outside world, I'm predicting a hell of a good time on the 14th

Why? This is stupid. Bama will not score 52 in any one game all year. Bama may win but only if it is low scoring. Bama will not score more than 28 against aTm and I had a hard time convincing myself 28 was possible without defensive or special team TD.

If you watched our D (minus 6 starters up front), you'd feel better about your chances against A&M.

Remind me how many points Rice scored, please.

Matthews looked turrible, to be honest. Everyone else played well. Not the unit it was last year, unfortunately.

Not to nitpick, but "6 STARTERS UP FRONT?"

Is this not an exaggeration?

Slightly, yea. It was 6 defensive starters, but a few were DBs. But our run defense is pitiful, which is where the missing LBs really hurt.

Just trying to end the last year comparisons, that's all.

2 different teams.

So how many up front were out? Our OL starts slow every year but last Saturday was the worst I can remember in Sabans tenure. I expected to see missed assignments but at times they were just outmanned regardless of how talented VT DL is.

4 up front (3 linemen, 1 LB). I'd still rather have my Oline look rusty against a pretty solid VT defense than have the shitshow that was our defense last Saturday.

Statistics aside last years defense was not a great defense by 2009 and 2011 standards. This defense is closer to 2011 IMO than last year however it was only one game.

Va tech stacked the box, which is nothing new and I expect the same from the aggies. Explosive plays by AJ and our WR corps in man coverage is what we have to have.

I think this year's defense could be as good as we've seen under Saban.

We'll see soon enough.
