Muting the SEC Network and listening to your radio broadcast team

The way that ESPN apparently encourages their basketball play-by-play announcers to be more like podcast hosts or sports talk radio hosts instead of actual play-by-play announcers is pretty unbearable.
They just ramble about a team's tournament chances or their coach or the weather or pretty much anything other than what's actually happening on the court while they're blabbering. Then the color commentator will join the rant, and it just goes on the whole game.
I think one day ESPN will find that there's more value in their play-by-play announcers actually getting back to the foundation of what they're supposed to be doing and stop acting like everyone is tuning in to hear them ramle and act like podcast hosts or sports talk radio know-it-alls.
About 5 minutes ago I realized that muting the TV and listening to the Georgia radio broadcast works way better. The game has much more energy when you listen on the radio. If you listen to the ESPN/SEC Network broadcast, it has all the energy of a Sunday afternoon sports talk radio show.

Somebody needs to take Jimmy Dykes out to the woodshed and put him out of his misery.

Yeah they need to quit acting like fans, but a lot of casual fans like that they do.

Sunvold does a good job as a color commentator, but I agree for the most part.

Completely agree. Unfortunately there isn't any way I'm aware of to sync the radio to the TV broadcast.
One great thing about the MLB TV app is that they do in fact have the option on the stream to have the radio synced up to the love game feed.
I don't mind muting my TV and having the radio broadcast playing on my phone most games, but today's game Florida was up 5-0 on TV while they were still announcing the starting lineups on UKs radio feed. I had to shut it off.

Radio guys are far superior to the TV people across the board, especially in the SEC.
Football, basketball and baseball. The announcers are knowledgeable about both teams, there is a good ebb and flow to the game. Those guys know how to emphasize the momentum of the moment and then occasionally filling in the gaps with interesting relevant information.
Easily a no brainer there.

I've been watching football games with the radio on instead of TV sound since the 70s. I can't stand the national broadcasters, they don't know shite about either team. I'd rather listen to the opponent's radio play by play than the national guys. At least they know something about one of the teams.
Hell, I'd rather play music with the game on than listen to those guys.
