Who would a thunk it that in place of going to BHM this weekend, folks will be flocking to Starkvegas to cheer on the Lady Dawgs. Our softball team has been solid good for some years now but has never been able to win a regional until now.
Though the record does not reflect it, they were a tough out all year long and lost some close games. Glad to see them climb another step this year.
Would be awesome to win this and go to OKC.

Huge to beat that team twice in one day. Congrats

That was a huge upset. The Florida State ace started the day 30-1 and ended 30-3.
Then Missouri shits the bed and State gets a home Super Regional against a team that they probably should beat.

anc you can let me know if my memory is hazy but it feels like we have always had really good luck against FSU in sports.

Because baseball is done, if the Super was held in Dudy Noble, State fans would easily set the on campus softball crowd record. Easily get 5-7,000 fans there.
Overall crowd Record is 9,820 at the Oklahoma City world series, and I doubt we would get that many. Possible, though, with a sales push. We had 14,385 at a baseball Super Regional last year. State baseball fans are upset we aren't making any postseason at all.
Alas, State's softball stadium only holds 1,100 plus SRO in the outfield. I don't think the outfield crowd needs tickets or is counted in attendance, so the 1,100 sellouts plus some additional SRO tickets inside the stadium will be the best we can do.

Baseball has won a few regionals in Tallahassee over the years. I've always thought it was because the facility that FSU baseball calls home has favored the way our team has been built.
This was a huge upset. State was 11th in the SEC and FSU was 2nd in the nation. If State somehow gets to the WCWS it will be up there with the women's basketball upset of UConn in MSU lore.

They deserve the recognition. They beat a damn good team. You have every right to make this thread. I will be pulling for them.
