Define "very real chance". I can tell you right now that MSU's chances of beating Alabama are 1 in 14.

as a lifelong Tiger fan and an MSU grad, and as much as I hate the gumps, I hope bama skulldrags the puppies.

So fricking annoying

They're not winning out, way too much to ask of them right now.

Against UT you are constantly in dime or sometimes nickel, we played a lot more nickel because we have the versatility to do so with one of our OLB's

What each of you did against Tennessee doesn't matter.

The real question comes down to can State throw the ball well enough to key Bama off the run and allow the State offense to chew some clock? I'm skeptical...

If State can move the ball with some efficiency and get their defense some rest they can make it a game. It's much easier said than done against Alabama.

it was evident that they weren't going to beat us with their RB alone. You can lock down the run and risk giving up the big play to Hunter or Patterson or keep allowing the 5-6 yard gash on your blitz calls. In the 4th we moved back out of an aggressive pass defense and it was effective, you saw Bama run an almost identical defensive scheme against them as compared to ours in the 4th.

If was so evident they were not going to beat you with RB alone then what was the point of moving back out of the aggressive pass defense in the 4th?

Because their offensive line began to tire late in the game allowing us to both defend the run and pass with fewer bodies.

But they moved the ball pretty well and scored a TD late in the 4th.

They had one drive with 5 minutes left, other than that they only moved the ball for a few yards in the 4th.
