Believe what you want, I know for a fact before Auburn hired Cheez Dip they contacted Petrino's agent and he told them that the ship had all but sailed with the Auburn job.

I also know that Long, being the whinney little whizatch he is asked Slive to put out feelers to the rest of the league encouraging them NOT to hire b mf P. It would have put incredible amounts of heat on Long if he ended up at Ole Miss or Auburn and was smoking Arkansas every year. Long is a powerful political type AD who has Slive's ear.

That's because there was a clause in his contract saying he could not leave arky for another SEC West school.

If Texas hires Petrino they are going to be unbelievable. He just needs to work for a place that recruits for itself like Texas.

If he does go to Texas you can pretty much guarantee Texas the favorite to win Crystal multiple times. They'll be the next Bama. He won't have to hardly recruit and will get his pick of top tier athletes! Somebody needs to hire him before Texas, Miami, or UCLA gets him.

Are you guys trolling, there is no way Texas would hire Petrino. also could you imagine that guy being featured all the time and giving interviews on the Longhorn Network. There is no way that would play well. Texas needs a savage media type of guy that is willing to do 4 hours of tv a week since they spent so much on there network.

Texas has such a superiority complex they think they can hire the top guy in football and Petrino would not enter that conversation.

Texas is Saban or bust, and if that doesn't happen they are Petterson from Boise State or bust.

Texas finished somewhere in the 20's on the 247 composite last year. It isn't guaranteed the recruits like it was with A&M coming on strong and the SEC as a whole beginning to invade Texas.

that would be the SEC west clause in the contract he had due to him being so quick to jump "the ship" at every place before pretty much. You believe what you want but it's pretty well known that BMFP has always wanted to have that Auburn job.

In fact, after Chizik was fired he was my first choice. I know a lot of Auburn fans who didn't want him but IMO if he ever did land at Auburn he would probably do very well there. He would be able to recruit much easier for sure.

The problem would be the assistants that would work for him. I'm content with Gus for now, I think he's got major potential but its still a wait and see for me.

To the OP, I think BMFP would be a huge upgrade for miss st. The guys got baggage, sure but IMO it wouldn't take more than 2 seasons (of good behavior and good football) for that to start fading.
