The Dome seats ~71k and the SEC-CG has sold out to capacity every year since moving there except for once. (Thanks '95 Hogs)

I was at that game. There was a small sliver of red in one of the corners close to the field. The rest was a sea of blue and orange.

what do y'all think of perhaps moving the SEC Championship game out of Atlanta for a year or two?

If we move it out of ATL, then we'll never get it back. The ACC wants in ATL.

It's the SouthEASTERN Conference, bub.

Just because y'all were gifted with the honor and the privilege to join the elite hasn't changed that.

When y'all finally prove something, let's talk. Since its been 20 years already and Arky STILL hasn't proved shite, I imagine y'all will be on a similar timeframe.

Damn Aggies, come in and want to change everything before they ever play a single game. I'm in favor of moving it around the SEC footprint, but

HELL no, what loyalties to the SEC does Kansas fricking City have?

Houston

Again, same.

Look Aggy, you called us. Don't come in wanting to change everything, it wasn't broken until y'all joined.

Lol. Arky saying "us". Texas A&M is going to win the SEC before you, and more often than you, and in 50 years, people will think A&M and Arkansas joined at the same time, and Arkansas was the one that could never get it done.

Meh, who cares.
Here is what really matters:

SEC Conference Championships:
Texas A&M. 0
Arkansas 0

As far as moving the game goes, looking at the map, it would be nice if there was a neutral site in Alabama/Mississippi of any size. But since there isn't, I would take ATL over the next best option, LP Field...plus the ATL market is hell of a lot bigger.

This is a terrible idea.

ETA: There is no reason to move out of the GA Dome.

I bet you wouldn't mind that.

Atlanta is the most important media market for the SEC by far. If we move that game out of Atlanta, the ACC will move their title game to Atlanta the next day. Keeping our dominance of the Atlanta market is much more important than any geographical concerns of giving NOLA a shot. NOLA will always be SEC country because there is no competition for it. aTm needs to prove they can win big and gradually make the SEC more important in Texas before we move any big game to Dallas or Houston. With the new playoff, not many East teams are going to travel all the way to Houston while having to fly to two more games after that. Atlanta is driving distance to the vast majority of SEC fans. Houston and NOLA are not.

Sounds like sportswriters talking. Find something that someone worked hard to make a success out of(remember Birmingham?) and then change it for the worse. Already a 4 team format championship for N.C. and people are saying 4 is not enough need at least 8,etc.etc. No one can improve on what Atlanta has done for the SEC Champtionship, and I am a Gator. When it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Moving the SEC champ. around is a great option, as long as ALL seats in the host stadium, are made avail. to the participating teams...unlike the money grab games @ Jerry world.

Personally, I like the SECCG in Atlanta. I think having a permanent location gives it more of a feel of tradition. But I also liked the SEC Champion going to the Sugar Bowl and that seems to be out the door with the new "Champions Bowl".

My guess is that it will end up in a rotation. Maybe Atlanta, N.O., Nashville, and either Dallas or Houston.

I wonder if we are all going to look back in ten years and regret how the SEC messed up the best conference around. 12 Teams, SECCG in Atlanta then the SEC winner at the Sugar Bowl or playing for the national championship was a good setup.

Perhaps subliminally...you're correct slopey..lol
Also the practice of allowing those with sideline seat licenses to retain their plush seats for re-sale to the participating teams....I call horse-shite ! 75% of available tickets are crap !
