8 years ago LSU, Arkansas, Auburn and Miss. State and occasionally a decent east school was a murderer’s row for honestly anyone in the country. The latter few weren’t world killers by any means at that point but that’s 7+ wins still. So a winning record.

The problem is the coaches at the time in the west were:

Nick Saban
Les Miles
Dan Mullen
Bobby Petrino
Gene Chizik
some other dude I can’t remember at the time

3 of those coaches have 12 win seasons under their belt not including Nick Saban. But nobody wants to compete with Nick except stubborn arse LSU that’s really the only team that somewhat gets within 10 points every other year or so. No coach wants to build a program from the ground up without walking on eggshells around the NCAA and Nick at the same time.

That’s why Alabama’s schedule is, at a base level, terrible every year. These anonymous coaches that vote Nick the most overrated coach every year are the same pussies that probably go 6-6 at their mid-major dump heap in a directional Florida school.

You get the Dabos, Rileys and Fitzgeralds of the world back in the division...then things start looking a little different. Alabama’s OOC will look better starting unfortunately in FOUR YEARS. But until then, hopefully these cupcakes Alabama is currently feasting on in the west not named LSU and occasionally a random gimmicky Auburn team get better overall to provide some better games.

We’ll see what happens with TAMU. Jimbo seems to have them going in the right direction if the end of last year’s game is any indication.

In the last 8 years, LSU has been one of the biggest cupcakes on Alabama's schedule..... and I doubt that will change anytime soon.

you could've left at the first sentence and it would of been fine but you throwing in that second sentence has me sensing more and more fear.

Typical bammer nonsense. Your schedule is weak because you scheduled shitty games.

Alabama schedule is among the toughest in America consistently. We have, until this year opened with a bad arse intersectional school. And as usual we play multiple top 10 opponents. This year we have #8 AU at their place. And we hot either the #2/3 or 4 LSU Tigers. That's two, same as LSU who has AU and Bama. UGA has only two in #8 AU and # 7 or 9 N.D. So of the top 3 schools in the SEC, LSU and Bama have the toughest slate tied and UGA the easiest among the top 3 teams in the league. N.D. is a fraud.

Which insures having a weaker schedule that the trio of AU, UA and LSU. Not their fault UF and UT went away but there it is.

Exactly.

LSU has balls. Alabama? Not so much. The regular season NC schedule is abysmal typically year in and year out. Also catching UT.

ETA - LSU is doing everything Alabama is doing, and still playing Texas and others, plus UF is significantly better than UT for the last decade.

Then why does Alabama schedule their bye week prior to the LSU game EVERY single year???????

LSU gets Alabama's A+ game every single year. Very, very few teams get the all out focus and effort that Alabama puts forth towards LSU.

Playing LSU, Auburn and A&M every year plus the other 3 makes it tougher than OU, tOSU, Notre Dame and Clemson most years (most years at least one of Arky, OM and State are decent-to-good).

I think the main complaint is that the strongest West school has the weakest East school as its permanent opponent.

It’s time to do away with permanent opponents. If TSIO is that important to y’all, do like the two ACC schools (Duke and Wake Forest?) and play it as a non-conference game in years when it’s not scheduled as part of the rotation.

Same with LSU-Florida and Auburn-UGA (if those schools wish to keep their rivalries intact as an annual occurrence.

We have played a traditional top notch team most years since CNS took over! Its not our fault they finished outside of the top 15 or unranked but most of them started in the top 10. FSU might have done better a few years back but they lost their starting QB against us.

We also have tough opponents scheduled in the near future!

I would not mind that and CNS is the only SEC HC in favor of 9 conference games and no FCS schools.

So tell me, how many of those last 8 LSU won, or even came close to winning?

No fear, just laughter.
