A&M

They took the SEC by surprise for sure. Johnny Football has an ego now and the SEC defenses have seen him and have time to prepare. I'm not saying he won't perform but he won't have the same kind of season.

LSU, if for no other reason than the teams' respective schedules. A&M will likely be a double-digit favorite in ten games next season. LSU has a much tougher SEC schedule plus a decent OOC opponent. LSU could be better than A&M next year and still lose a couple more games.

That, and they have Mettenberger. Yeesh.

As opposed to last year when teams had film on him, time to prepare and couldnt stop him?

This argument makes no sense. Manziel's two worst games of the year came in the first seven games. His last six were as close to flawless as you can be, including wins over Bama and OU.

In other words, literally the EXACT OPPOSITE of what LSU fans keep arguing was true. As teams got more film on him and had more time to prepare, he kept getting better and producing more.

Maybe, just maybe, he really is THAT good.

And what did he do to LSU last year?

He won't have the same season he had last year.

LSU lined up in nickle and dime packages more than base defense. Tigers have four returnees in the secondary from it's dime defense. Plus #3 and #4 safties. Secondary is stacked.

Of LSU's top eight DBs, three were freshmen (freshman all american and a freshman all sec) and another was a true soph. Look for those four to show much improvement between now and labor day.

Starting D-line will be SEC quality. No worries there. Biggest concern will be finding quality subs considering tigers usually rotate 8-9 players.

Why not? Three weeks after LSU he beat a better team in their house with a near flawless performance.

As for the LSU "D" being better this season coming.

The BACK 7 will be GREATLY IMPROVED.

Best group of LBs at LSU in a long time. Deepest it's EVER been.

Return six of top eight DBs. One freshman all american CB will play opposite of freshman all sec CB. Five of the six played defense in every game. Score, opponent, time on clock or situation didn't matter. They earned PT against ALL OPPONENTS not just cupcakes.

D-line starters will be quality SEC caliber players. Look for EGO to be the leader here. The determining factor for the defense on a whole to be better is if Brick and Chief can find quality backups to allow LSU their usual 8-9 man rotation here.

Thats amazing that his maturation process started after the 7th game. I wonder why. Maybe because he got arse raped in the 7th game by LSU then got to play Auburn, Moo U, Sam Houston State, Missouri, a half dead Bama team that just played their super bowl the week before, and a big 12 team disappointed to be in a mediocre bowl.

Posted by WestCoastAg you also have by far the most difficult schedule out of the three
this is the best argument against LSU right now.
