The most infamous game since '92 is definitely the Bluegrass Miracle.

2008 LSU @ South Carolina. A ref tackled Stephen Garcia and we lost by a possession. It was atrocious.

You scored on that same drive like 2 plays later

There was no view that showed conclusively that he didn't make it.

I have wondered about this scenario though. IIRC, UGA still had 3 timeouts and would have had Auburn pinned on the half yard line with about 1:45 left. The game would have still been far from over with the way UGA was moving the ball.

Replay I agree, although I think most of us, including UGA fans, could conclude from the video he didn't make it. Still didn't think he got it originally, so that was where the situation was "blown" although it was admittedly close.

Regarding the rest of it, could be. I like to think AU could manage a first down with momentum after that stop, but I would have been pretty apprehensive. Hell I was apprehensive after the Louis TD, for good reason.

Not to mention the 4th and 1 fumble that was pretty clearly a fumble but called incomplete

Actually 1992, Auburn at the one lined up with 6 seconds to go, UGA players sitting down as instructed by there coaches, refs should have stopped the clock for delay.

to this day, i don't think i've ever left a stadium feeling so bitter. i've never heard a stadium so quiet afterward. even the UGA fans didn't make a sound...i think in this case, they knew better not to

since the OP picked a an OOC matchup, i submit a game i attended but had no dog in the fight in: UF/FSU 1994, otherwise known as the "choke at doak". the UF fans sitting a few rows in front of us were in fine form when they were up 31-3, but their transformation in the 4th quarter was nothing short of epic. when the game started getting closer, they still continued the "but, look at the scoreboard!" taunts, until i emphatically pointed at my auburn hat...realizing i didn't give a frick what they thought 'cuz we'd already beat 'em earlier in the season (and the season before), they watched the rest of the game facing forward

2007 UGA vs UF - the dance. Pretty fricken infamous even by SEC standards.

The entire series between LSU and Auburn has been infamous. Something crazy happens every year or two:

earthquakes, buildings on fire, 14 Jaimey Howard interceptions returned for TDs in the 4th quarter, officiating blunders (both ways), multiple missed kicks by really good placekickers, cigars, touchdown passes with no time left when only a field goal was needed, etc.

No wonder it's one of my favorite series.

That's okay, we got payback the next year.

1998 Hogs @ TN. Self inflicted agony. I personally watched in horror from the old Hilton SuperBook in Vegas.

Surprised it took this long to mention the LSU/Auburn fire game and the LSU kicking AU's arse all over the field + 19 Jaimey Howard INT's for TD = AU win.

Infamous is different than notable.

Infamous implies it's known for something pretty bad.

One of the most infamous conference games I can think of is Arkansas @ Florida in 2009.

It's hard to watch that game and think the refs were not actively trying to get Florida the W.

If refs get the Aaron Murray call correct in AU-UGA 2013, there is no controversy and no miracle.

I didn't think he got in either, but it would have been really interesting if they called a face mask on the play and UGA had 1st and goal from the 1, instead of Auburn getting the ball back.

Stoerner stumbles and fumbles!

Eh y'all got the better of us the next year. But that was such a great year for me as a kid.

Why didn't you bring up the just as terrible celebration penalty LSU got right after that when they scored a TD?

Only difference is LSU's kick coverage was actually worth a shite.

Oh, I'm in shock that we had poor special teams... Oh wait, no I'm not. The biggest difference in my opinion was knowing LSU only needed a FG to win (although y'all got a TD) and we needed a touchdown to tie. Both were terrible calls and if I remember correctly the refs got suspended after this game, not that it really matters.
