It took a little longer than I expected, but this thread has inevitably reached this point, so let's save some time and skip ahead of the next few posts:

Bama fan: "21-0"
LSU fan: "mulligan"
Bama fan: "butthurt"
LSU fan: "wait til Nov. 3rd"

Which brings us back around to the point of this thread. Whoever wins on Nov. 3rd will likely win the West and play 14 games instead of 13 and will likely have the most rushing yards.

That's good shite.

Teams have been stacking the box against us for the past 4 years and we were still able to rush the ball. We had more rushing yards last year and we will have more rushing yards again this year.

both teams were amazing, bama was better prepared for the game in the dome. anyone who claims that there is a level of measurable disparity between the overall quality of the two teams is reaching.

the "we won the one that mattered, so we were better" schtick is about as gump as gump gets.

LSU played 1 more game and had 83 more carries for 48 more yards. To be fair, because some teams only play 12 or 13 games, YPG is more accurate

To be fair, Bama did not have to attempt a running game against the Bama D last year either. Let alone trying to gain yards on the ground against them twice. That is not an easy task. I know our D was pretty damn good last year, but they werent quite as good as yall against the run. Either way both teams will run the ball at will against everyone but each other all year long.

Bama.

We'll have more passing yards, too.

True. It's also true that Bama's leading returning rusher has more career yards than any of LSU's backs.

True, but LSU's returning running backs have 2882 career yards and 35 tds.

Alabama has 1576 yards and 18 tds.

Good argument to try and make your point though.

We have 4 proven backs. Also you can have the 5 stars. I'll take the 3 and 4's all day.

No it's not. Total rushing yards is the tits and I'm not biased. IMO it should be SEC only for stats used because the teams wing compared didn't play the same ooc schedule. Comparing stats only matters if the opponents are the same. If Bama rushes for 180 against a top 10 defense and LSU runs for 220 against north Texas, te stats would say LSU ran the ball better than Bama but wouldn't show that Bama did their damage against a far better defense.

If you want to get technical so should strength of schedule. Didn't LSU play the BCSNC, Rose Bowl champ and Orange Bowl Champ? Also beat 2 of them in their stadium and one on a neutral site? Bama really torched Ole Miss though.

Bama had more rushing yards per game. Lsu also had 83 more attempts for a grand difference of 48 more yards on the season.

IMO Bama was the better team last year ,but most LSU fans looked for 2012 as our year to make a run. We were really young last year. It's a shame that we had to have two of the best teams in the BCS era, during the same year. I think both teams would've beaten almost all bcs champs except maybe 01 Canes and the 05 Trojans( I know) and 08 Gators would've definitely made a game of it.

This. Without a passing game. I know 3-4 d lineman dont usually rack up stats , but had Bama had great dlineman( they were good but not elite) , they would be without a doubt the goat.

Texas A&M has a better offensive line and running back corps than both Alabama and LSU. Long hair don't care.

Allow me to "reach" for these combined stats from the two games last year:

Combined score: Bama 27 LSU 9 (Bama TRIPLES LSU's total)

Total yards: Bama 679 LSU 331 (Bama MORE THAN DOUBLES LSU's total)

First downs: Bama 38 LSU 20 (Bama almost doubles LSU's total)

Finally, we won the one that mattered.
