The dipshit here is the aggie OP spewing inaccurate nonsense he clearly knows nothing about. "Can you seriously not see that?"

Stopping following the sport is certainly in my future.
This is dumb and getting dumber. People keep comparing it to Free Agency, but that comparison doesn't even cover it. Pro ballplayers have to wait for free agency, and then they sign multi-year contracts. Also, pro organizations don't have to invest quite so much in the skill development of a player they have no idea will be on the roster a year later.
This is Free Agency on crack. And the product on the field will show it more and more. Sure, the skill positions will still be fun to watch, but the line play will be arse.
I'm less than five years from tuning out unless I just punish myself with going through the motions.
This is qualitatively different from the deteriorations of the sport we've held our noses and adjusted to before. College football as we know it will be unrecognizable in a decade.

I think you have a serious comprehension issue. OU fan also said the center and an OT both went pro.
In case you aren’t aware, going pro isn’t the same as transferring schools.

Cayden Green and his broke-arse dad gave us a number they were looking for and his demand he asked for was met by our NIL which would've made him one of the highest paid OL in the country. His dad shut down his twitter and won't answer his phone and he's leaving anyway.
He most likely already had a deal with somebody else and cash in hand, and wasn't expecting OU to match, which we did. He probably already had a new car in his driveway, courtesy of the tampering team.
It sounds like yall have a culture problem. I am not sure how you go about fixing it but you need guys that want to be at OU first and are happy to make money while doing it. You don't want guys that just want the highest bidder as many times as they can get it.
Winning isn't the issue. yall went 10-2 and your QB and OL plus other players are still leaving. That means that all of them either don't like/trust the coaching staff, Don't believe the transition to the SEC will go well, or are just a bunch of money hungry mercenaries. Any way you shake it, it needs to be fixed.

quote:Not true. 1 out of 5 is a portal loss.
I saw on twitter that OU has lost its entire offensive line to the portal. If true, that is some straight bullshite and that’s really bad for the game as a whole.
2 declared for the draft, 2 are out of eligibility, and one entered the portal. In addition, a true freshman entered the portal.

No we have not lost an entire offensive line to portal. We lost 3 guys to the pros and one to portal . Same thing happened last year we will be okay. Guyton projected 15th pick and Raym declared early as Juniors . Walter Rouse is a senior going pro. The other guy was bought we think.
Cayden Green was offered by OU a number that was so large he prob would have been the highest paid player at rg in the country . No one can even get a peep out of him everything is going thru his dad . As of right now they said he isn’t in the portal supposedly even though he’s intending on leaving .

Just curious, was there a legal precedence that forced the transfer portal on the NCAA?
I know the backstory on NIL, but am not aware of lawsuits leading to the transfer portal, or more specifically the relaxing of transfer rules. It just landed at the same time as NIL, which produced this crapfest.

quote:The OL coach has coach more NFL all pros than probably any college maybe outside Bamas OL coach . Think OU had 7-8 linemen in pros right now over 20mil in contracts . 2-3 have 50 mil plus contracts . And he was offered a shitlaod of money to stay …. So both of your assumptions are wrong …. Truth will come out eventually …. From what has been said OU offered what he wanted and he asked for more we gave him more and then he turned around and said everything had to go thru his dad which no one can get in touch with .
If they did indeed lose their entire offensive line to the portal, which they didn't, then it says more about OU's O-line coach than it does NIL.

If this were the case then why aren't guys flocking from LSU, Bama, UGA, etc. for A&M, Texas, Oregon, and whatever other schools that have deeper pockets.
Money is part of it, it always has been but now its a larger part. BUT program culture and buy in is also a huge part of it.
You don't think Harold Perkins could make bank in the transfer portal? IDK what he is making at LSU but I guarantee he could find someone to out bid us if he wanted. But he didn't do that, he plans to return and play on for LSU despite the defense he is on being shitty. Meaning that he's bought into the program and trusts the direction we are going. The proof is in the pudding.

Apparently, the Supreme Court neutered them completely.

This ain't your daddies college football boys and girls. The days of dropping haybales laced with hundred dollar bills from an airplane are long gone. These days you can just wire the money straight into their account!

I have only watched the Super Bowls since BLM. I have not watched one single game otherwise. Whereas, I used to watch the Cowboys every game and most every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night football games.
