Will happen. It's needed for retention after the field is lowered. Or so I've heard.

What? I don't have any idea how moisture retention and shite works, but I wouldn't want a whole lake there.
Either way the landscaping there NEEDS to improve.

When all of this comes to fruition, O/U 5 years before Texas puts this plan into motion:

Not as long as the current regime is in power in Austin. It would be worse than Neyland during a beatdown. Mack is losing the fanbase.

Under, provided they get their shite together. They'll refuse to have a smaller capacity--surprised they let it happen for 7 or 8 years after we completed the zone.
That rendering looks to hold 120k plus. At a certain point, though, I'm not sure what benefit they'll realize--even a superficial one --when both stadiums have top 5 capacities. "Well our gigantic stadium is slightly larger than your gigantic stadium." In other words, it won't do much to prove TAMU is inferior in this regard.

DGAF ours will look better and have fans that are capable of making noise.

Someone on Texags put blacklights on the new rendering. I love this. Plus, I want to steal that undead horse from the Denver airport. Make Kyle Field creepy as hell for the other team.

This.
Quietest 100k I've ever heard was Thanksgiving 2010 in Austin. Stark contrast after the madhouse we had at Kyle Field for Nebraska only the week before with 90k.

that thing killed its creator.

Mr. Jimenez was killed working on the sculpture. In 2006, while he was hoisting pieces of the mustang for final assembly in his New Mexico studio, the horse's massive torso swung out of control and crushed the 65-year-old artist.

but I'm with you on that thing being crazy.
I'd love to have it.

Also couldn't care less if Texas makes theirs 150k. They can only sell it out when they win and even then they have the quietest fans in major college football. Sip games are a social event and they live for the opportunity to bail. The Thanksgiving TCU game was really ridiculous, I don't think half the seats were full even before they were going to lose.
Size isn't the goal, revenue and fan experience should be the goal. Nothing weighs on a program like a huge and unfilled stadium, it just sucks the life out of the fans who do attend.
