dawgs played one SEC team with a pulse in football and lost. won rematch for NC
In BB Tenn, Ark, Auburn, Ky all had a shot at it. AL, LSU, Fl had a say in the outcome.

Unfortunately the Dawgs didn’t win the SECC in football.

Money involved generally correlates with level of competition. 7m CEO posts requires more credentialing than a 500k National Sales manager than a 150k regional sales manager. The competition to make the best half ton pickup truck is more so competitive than being the best dentist in Opelika.

Auburn, who is now accomplishing more in basketball than football, still invest several times as much in football than basketball. No matter how well Pearl has done as a coach and he’s done very well….Auburns head coach in football is a more prestigious and sought out job than the mens basketball head coaching position.

“Harder” is a near anecdotal term hard to pin down. But due to investment I’m comfortable saying CFB is more competitive a sought after than CBB.

Certainly wish there was a little more parity in CFB. In CBB, there's 68 teams who could, in theory win the championship. In football, I think 4 teams lends towards "rich get richer"...would like to see expansion.

Arky was a top ten team coming off wins over Texas and AnM. KJ is a legit QB. No pulse?

Florida almost beat Bama. No pulse?

Auburn almost beat Bama. No pulse?

Kentucky had 7 players invited to the combine. No pulse?

Clemson finished with 10 wins. No pulse?

That is true. But the real thing that makes basketball do competitive is that you only need three good players and a couple shooters to get hot. Football is larger numbers and that is harder to overcome. That is why we see the same teams in the hunt. Basketball one recruiting class or portal year and you can contend. Football is a longer, deeper build.
