My daughters always had on their jersey for that season until they reach 12. Now nothing will do but a "gameday dress" the part I have not yet figured out is why they still think they need a new jersey each year when they do not wear them to the games.

I have relatively been seeing the same thing year after year from the same fan bases for many years. There is no schools dressing up more. It's pretty much always been the same.
However, in my gradfather's school pic when he attended LSU, he's wearing a purple & gold beanie cap. Pretty sure people don't do this anymore.
Well maybe I-59 or blueridge tiger do.

LSU's crowd has gotten slightly dressier the last few years. We'll never have a bunch of guys in coat and tie and girls in high heels, but collared shirts and sundresses have become the popular choice among half the student body.
Our away game crowd tends to be a little dressier, especially at a higher dollar game like Oregon.

Is there a specific dress code for football games now? Did I miss a meeting? I certinaly don't want to committ this fashion faux pas next time I'm at a game.

Outside of pledgeship, I was always a shorts and polo guy.

A grown man that has an opinion on the clothing choice of other grown men sounds even gayer to me.

more and more sec schools except LSU
are dressing up to football games. Make jabs at Ole Miss folks but at the end of the day your fans are doing the same. And actually, the only 'tie wearers' are the frat boys who have to at OM.
I was always a jeans and polo guy
The frats and sororities still dress up, as evidenced from what I saw at the Homecoming game,
where some alumni also 'dressed up.'
I usually wore 'the uniform' when I was at LSU in the mid-80's: khakis, oxford, striped tie, etc.
But in Septemeber, it's too fricking hot to dress up. It's a football game, not the damn opera for Chrissakes.

Khakis shorts and a polo is plenty dressed up for 95 degree heat. Which is very popular on an LSU gameday.

It's not just a bunny, it's a space bunny with evil eyes.
Or it could be god.
I haven't decided yet.
