Well you don't always throw your best non-weekend starter in a midweek game. It can be a time to try out some freshmen or other pitchers that they are thinking about working into the bullpen on the weekends.

We lose pitchers all the time. Sometimes even before the year starts. Need a backup option.

Northeastern was a two-seed in the Tallahassee regional last year. They aren't exactly a scrub, but this has been an awful performance.

It's embarrassing, but that's about it. It also might give Jay some ammo to light a fire under his players. It is easy to eat the rat poison when you have been winning as much as LSU has.

Maybe, but it's a long season, and one game isn't going to make or break a season. Baseball is a funny sport and pitching changes everything. They just need to get some of their guys going at the plate. They have only been cold for like a week.
