Sidewalk, the final rankings don’t come out until after the natty game. A&M moved up since they won their bowl game and Notre Dame dropped down one spot after they lost their CFP game.

Having to explain football to the corndogs again

You honestly believe that a ranking after the playoff game matters? I'm sure the cups were printed.

As for Max, he could be good but he takes forever to throw and can't read defenses, and can't scramble. He's a statue, Mond was a statue. Pretty similar, with the edge of Max.

Mond and Calzada are not here anymore. Max will get the same shot at being QB1 as King and Weigman. Best qb will start. In think King has the advantage since he has been in the system longer

Should have.

So you're saying your fourth place finish was pointless?

Don’t you wish, haha.

So you are admitting that your best season in nearly 100 years and being 4th place did NOT in fact result in a playoff spot?

But they didn't. I was just curious if the "fourth place finish" actually means anything or is a moral victory?

It’s a top 5 which is way better than not even being ranked. Going by how you are desperately trying to devalue it, it must mean a lot. Keep melting though. It’s fun to watch.

It's just a question, my guy.

Why so sensitive?

That's difficult from this place. HOWEVER, i believe Mond is a better QB based on arm strength and speed. But like Max... i don't think either has been in the right system.

Thanks for that. Mond had his off quarters and then he would come on during certain parts of the game. His overall accuracy left something to be desired. Would you say Max is a more accurate passer? He seemed accurate against us.

Not nice for a fellow SEC brother and a fan of the "official rival".

Johnson is a tough guy. Holds onto the ball way too long, doesnt leave the pocket enough as he should, when he tries to jump through the pocket, he ends up hitting a DL or OL and falling. If he gets sacked, there's a 60% chance he fumbles the ball. He has decent speed and agility but we never utilized that since we only had him and a true freshman QB. He has a very slow release and not the strongest arm. If you guys can teach him to get out of the pocket and use his legs, he can be a weapon. but also keep in mind he left his team and went another SEC west school. Is that who you want leading your team???

Thanks. I’m in favor of King winning the job.

Max and Mond are very similar as far as their struggles go.

Max is a career 60% passer but could be a little better with a better scheme, running game, and offensive line.

Probably not a very good fit in Kelly's system, likely not yours either but maybe a little better fit than King.

Forget Mond, the QB situation had zero to do with MJ going to A&M and everything to do with getting Jake Johnson. How about this, Zach Calzata is a slightly better QB than Max. If Zach & Max were vying for the starting QB job, and all things equal no biases, Calzata wins that battle 8 out of 10 times! Calzata has a stronger arm and much more mobile than Max. That is not difficult at all to see. So if Calzata left A&M because of competition and probably not being able to beat out King in the Spring, what chance would you give a QB that isn’t as talented as Zach??? I am sure Max is going to get a shot at being the starter, because you know that is what Fisher had to promise to get the brothers to A&M. But you know he caveated it with, I will give him the opportunity to win the starting job, but what Max does with that opportunity depends on his performance! Max will be a great back up QB to King, because if King does go down again Max will can step in and the one thing Fisher won’t have to worry much about is Max turning the ball over much at all

Thanks. I never saw Calzada as mobile. He seemed very slow to me. Max seemed much faster.

Jimbo is the QB whisperer. And remember his father is Super Bowl winning QB Brad Johnson.

Some of you really have an axe to grind, lol. Yes I believe we were at least the 4th best team at the end of the year. Probably second. We played Bama the best of all playoff teams and that was at the beginning of the year when we were getting our young receivers established and they had their best receiver.

Thanks for that. You seem to be very knowledgeable. You should troll less and get more football discussions going. We could use that on here.

Not sure how complicated LSU’s scheme was, but I’ve seen that Fisher’s offense is difficult to grasp during someone’s first year.
