I leave the thread thinking this is nothing but a thread for SEC fans to shite on Mizzou.
Then I come back to find an Arky/aTm flame war.
Just another day in the life of the SECr.
I was surprised myself when I clicked on it. Then I had to laugh at some TexAgs for a little bit. Now back to threads that aren't flame wars.

since it makes no sense to give Arkansas credit for 1964 while denying A&M credit for 1919 and 1927
Sure it does. What media organization awarded aTm the trophy those years?
That's what I thought

I have a rule: If a team goes undefeated, untied, unscored upon, and an organization not affiliated with that school lists them as national champion, then they get to claim it as national championship.
Such is the case for A&M's football teams in 1919 and 1927

1919: Billingsley and the National Championship Foundation
1927: Sagarin ELO-Chess
1939: AP, College Football Researchers Association, Helms Foundation

Kilo,
Personally, I love the state of Missouri. My family owns property in SW Missouri and we make hunting trips there a few times a year. I also like most of the people that I have met in Missouri. The southern part of the state is majority a region of poverty. Most are hillbillies/rednecks and blue collared workers. Most are honest, sincere, humble hard working people.
Where you get your elitist attitude is beyond me. If the economy in Missouri was worth a darn, I would be living on my property NOW. The problem is that I would have to take a HUGE paycut to live there. I am not knocking Missouri or the people because I love both. The fact is, the state of LA is just as educated (not saying much), has a MUCH better economy, and our sports programs are better.
If you thought football sucked for y'all, just wait until the beating you will receive in Baseball.

I have a rule too...if a University has to wait until moving conferences to claim the title, it is bullshite.
Posted on 1/14/13 at 4:46 pm to Porker Face
yea. going unbeaten and unscored upon totally isnt legit

You live in St. Louis. I've been there. It's a fricking dump.
All cities have issues. The Metro area is a vibrant mixing of the Eastern U.S. and the Midwest culturally and is a very affluent area of 3.5 million people.
The best thing about St. Louis is the monument to all the people that have left it.

How many points was a touchdown worth during that era? No fair using google
If you don't know, it isn't legit

Pretty obvious that the only organization you will call "legit" is the FWA, since it is the one that gave Arkansas the 1964 title.

1920s bielema would score on that team and shite down there throat

False. Bama won the AP and the UPI title in 1964. Arkansas finished #2.
