Florida State and North Carolina clearly have better lawyers than Missouri.

The difference, as noted in the NCAA’s report on Mizzou (unbelievably enough), is that Mizzou said that a tutor finishing student’s work violated our honor code. And UNC stood by its no-show courses and didn’t admit wrongdoing.

That’s the main difference. We said cheating is wrong.

just a friendly reminder that appealing the NCAA ruling isn't going to do shite but waste more money on legal counsel.

It will hopefully highlight the gross incompetence of the NCAA.

The organization didn’t cheat. One dumb Muslim woman tutor did.

That's why they should sue them for discrimination instead of wasting time on appealing to them. Let a court dig in to they ncaa itself. Especially since they use government money.

Hopefully Mizzou will eventually wise up about dealing with these radical SJWs. I know this tutor is separate from the Concerned Student stuff, but her actions fit in with that mob.

Congrats on joining the conference though Mizzou. Y'all finally fit in

On the conference call, the NCAA states they fully believe the tutor acted on her own and this is the punishment? What a bunch of crap

Phillip Fulmer comes back.
Teams that beat Tennessee get put on probation.
Coincidence?
I think not.

It's time for the P5 schools to leave the NCAA and create a new organization ran by the schools.

You just described... the NCAA.

Y’all do realize the NCAA is just a giant straw man to distract from the fact that it’s the school’s ADs and professors and Presidents themselves sitting on these infraction committees, right? It’s functioning exactly as designed: make money for the schools, protect the big interests for the conferences (UNC basketball is too big to fail as it pertains to profit sharing within the ACC and viewership of March Madness), and absorb all the fan and media vitriol so the schools themselves look like the victims... of their own member organization.

Also, UNC got off because they were able to successfully prove that they hadn’t violated their own honor codes (which is the single biggest thing that matters to NCAA rules with regards to academics). Doesn’t matter that we all know that’s bullshite but they already get the benefit of the doubt.

Problem for Mizzou is a Mizzou student and multiple Mizzou athletes all violated Mizzou honor codes. There’s no defense for it, no matter the involvement of a coach or academic coordinator. Students have to follow the rules too and even if the tutor was a rogue agent the athletes certainly knew better and just went with it anyway.
