I don't know that there will be authentic hatred between the two fanbases... nothing like Mizzou vs Kansas, or Arkansas vs Texas. Or Texas A&M vs Texas for that matter. At best we may work our way up to a healthy disdain for each other on game week.
I will say it is nice to have our cross division rival in a state next door to us.

It could develop nicely, but it will never have the vitriol of the ku rivalry; that might not be a terrible thing.
Calling Arkansas an 'archrival' seems kind of ridiculous at the moment since we've only ever played them a few times.

You obviously don't realize that some teams do improve as the season goes on. Arkansas looks a hell of a lot better than Missouri does at this point.

We're rivals in basketball, games are always great.
Football is a little meh, only played twice this decade in bowl games. We beat them in the Independence Bowl and they beat us in the Cotton Bowl.
Baseball... I'd be surprised if most Mizzou fans could name their current baseball coach.

Arky will not be our rival because we could care less about rivalry. It's about winning. I just hope no one designs a trophy like that ugly arse Golden Boot. The loser of the LSU/Arky game should be forced to take that thing home not the winner.

Haha, whatever. We had already won our Super Bowl (ask LSU, they will confirm) and had gotten a decade long monkey with a whistle off our back (ask Ole Miss about that one), having an interim coach who thinks running back to back fake punts is inventive was just the icing on the cake.
You guys could have beaten us 150-0 and we would have still been happy for how the last couple months of 2007 went.

Keep in mind that was after about 2 months of hearing how your 3 headed monster and superb O line would run over our tiny no-D Big 12 team. Hindsight is 20/20, you can claim you were fine with the result and you may very well have been, but leading up to that game it was a lock win for Arky in the eyes of just about everyone but Mizzou fans.
