sadly, yes.
Most cities do all the spending on themselves. Illinois is a great example.
Not sure of recent years, but for a long time Chicago was 95% of the state's population, but 97% of the money was spent there.
Doesn't sound like much, but it is a huge amount of the money generated in the small or rural communities being taken by the big city.

Yeah taxes are taxes ... however, rural areas are highly subsidized by metropolitan areas across most of country.

We just added Texas and OU.
Is there any way we can add them too? They have to come with another team. Maybe FSU?

Missouri officially became SEC when they whipped Ohiyo State's arse in the Cotton Bowl -
that was the litmus test - because as we know SEC teams don't lose to Ohiyo State in bowl games - well one's that don't have 3 A's in their school name anyways -

Atlanta has huge slum areas, but very rich suburbs, and yes they provide for the tax structure of Atlanta

Probably true back when infrastructure was built out across the country...now, though, the money is vacuumed into the cities. Rural areas generate a lot of economic activity through ag and mining, and the taxes generated do not get spent on those same rural areas.

I lived there for 2 years and I’m only 30 minutes away from Mo. 15 minutes from Ky 50 minutes from Illinois.
Nice living in west Tennessee.
Mo is a great state to vacation in good food friendly people
Every state has it bad areas too.
Mo bbq not as good as Tenn but still not bad for second place lol
Mizzou you are not hated by me and I’m glad you are SEC now

No Chicago is Illinois
Those people south of Chicago hate it
Good people to I go to the VA hospital in Marion Illinois simply because it closer and safer than me going to Memphis.

SHOW ME YOUR TITS!!
You laugh but honestly they have Show-Me’s which is basically Hooters, and because of that restaurant I will never not think of Hooters/Show-Me’s ever again, when I think about the state nickname.
Btw Missouri is gay and isn’t in the SEC officially.

Speaking of gay, when will you compose another one of your poems?

My Dad ran the maintenance shop at the Goodyear plant for 30 years. He and a bunch of others retired right before GY shut it down. He lived on 120 acres out in Troy.
You're in a good place. I've got lots of relatives there and love to visit.

Only Georgia was stupid enough to vote for Joe Biden.
That was because the Democrats bribed them with stimulus checks or something, wasn't it?

I’m from close by. Spent a summer building the big Cuvier river bridge. Made damn good money for a college kid. Apparently have some obscure family tie to the crazy murder lady who they did the documentaries about also.

My dad and I set a few trot lines and limb lines on the Cuivre.
