Mizzou and Texas A&M Fans (RB question)

Who will be your starter. Has 1 guy stood out over the rest. If you were making a fantasy football pick would you draft one of your guys as the 3rd back on your list. Meaning you think he can reach close to 1000 yds 10+ TDs.
Mizzou it seems its between Murphy and Hansbrough. Tamu carsen? Trey Williams, and Brandon Williams.

Tra Carson is the RB that I think will break 1000 yards.

I think Trey Williams and Tra Carson well get 70-80% of the carries. No idea how it will split between them. Even though we are loaded with talent at RB I would put them at the bottom of your board.

MK and RSJ play different positions but I guess they may be both listed as WRs for your purposes. MK will probably put up better fantasy stats. We are loaded at WR talent wise but not a ton of experience. I could see Speedy Noil ending but up with the best stats.

As for Mizzou I would not be quick to take a back as a fantasy option. Hansbrough & Murphy are very similar stat wise about 6.0 per rush and 600 yards last year but no idea who will get the goal line carries. Plus Mizzou will I am sure split the carries again this year adding Morgan Steward in as the 3rd back. As for the #1 Receiver after DGWeed it is a dead heat between Bud Sasser, Jimmie Hunt and Darius White. If I had to choose one of the receivers I would choose Hunt. Freshman Nate Brown has a huge upside as well.

We certainly don't have a true beast like Gurley, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Steward getting most of the carries during the second half of the season. He had a big spring. Receivers (and the secondary) will prob be the Achilles heel of this team. I don't see us having a great go-to guy, but in addition to the starters, keep an eye on Brown and J'Mon Moore

Neither one will get huge numbers. Morgan Steward will be the third back and Mizzou will continue to do it the way they always have. All 3 will share carries relatively evenly. If there is any separation in touches, it will probably be Hansbrough then Murphy then Steward. I personally think Murphy has the opportunity to be more electrifying but Hansbrough is probably more rugged and consistent and holds onto the ball better.

Just like the RB's, Mizzou will continue to spread the ball around to many like they have in the past. DGB's numbers were good, but never great and never would have been great. We just spread the wealth way too much. Hunt and Sasser have plenty of experience. White, a 5* transfer from Texas, has the chance to contribute this year. Leftwich has the potential to be the best of them all but has fought health issues his entire career. Young guys like J'mon Moore and Nate Brown will likely contribute as well. I would be surprised if any one receiver has more than 700 yards receiving. May see a number of them with 300-500. Who though? Anyone's guess.

With the losses at WR, it wouldn't surprise me at all in our OC Henson tries to expand the roles of RBs in the passing game this year. So if you're in a PPR league, there might be some hidden upside in Mizzou backs over last year. Pure speculation on my part.

Once Josey regained confidence in his knee, he became the clear starter last season, but don't look for either Murphy or Hansbrough to differentiate themselves to that degree. The 3rd guy, Steward, was one of the "stars" of spring practice scrimmages, if they all stay healthy you could see all 3 a good deal.
If you want a "surprise" MU player for your fantasy stat sheet, you might want to give Marvin Zanders a look, I expect this kid to pull a TJ Moe and switch from QB to slot receiver, where he might contribute immediately instead of languish 3 or 4 spots back on the bench.

I think that Carson will get the bulk of the carries based on his size and durability. Trey Williams, while more explosive and a bigger threat to take it to the house, just doesn't ha e the frame for 20+ carrier per game. I also expect a lot of Trey's yards to go in the "receiving yards" category, even if he catches the ball at or behind the line of scrimmage.

So Malena was bigger than T. Williams? They are listed at similar sizes on espn and Malena got twice the carries as Carson.

Lol trey williams doesn't get carries limited for his size, it's his pass blocking that coaches take issue with. He was a 5star in highschool on a team with NO ONE ELSE. He ran 40 times a game against stacked boxes. The kid is unreal with the ball in his hands, but he's yet to show the maturity to do the little things that make the offense go. I think tra carson is the more likely to get the most carries however. He's good at everything but not truly elite at any one thing. Like a bigger Ben Malena.

Carson is our most well rounded back. Trey Williams will have a big role though. I could see James White being important by the end of the year, he's a do it all back along the lines of Malena I think and really impressed in the spring
