Firing coaches for going 5-7 one year is how you go 3-9 the next couple of years. Look what happened when Ole Miss fired David Cutcliffe Tennessee fired Phil Fulmer or Auburn fired Tommy Tubberville (granted they have a Cam Newton championship to go with their 3-9 this year.)

Thats part of the problem, everyone outside the fan base sees this as a big problem along with Frnaklin and Josey being hurt. There are some Mizzou fans though who think injuries are just an "excuse" and that a different coach would have gotten better results out of 3rd stringers, walk ons and true freshmen against SEC talent.

Pinkel was doing a great job. Give him another year. Know you guys had some injuries and are pretty frustrated.
Easy to say get rid of someone but who would you bring in? Realistically, who would you bring in now. Auburn, Arkansas, etc.. as well as other good programs are all looking for a new coach. Lots of big programs are trying to find a new coach at the same time. This is a whole other problem.
The recruiting problems that have popped up need to get addressed pretty quickly for you guys. Pinkel needs to get on that stuff ASAP.

You're paying Pinkle 2.75. Giving him at least another year is worth the $. If Pinkle were to retire this year, you guys would be set back at least 5 years.

Tommy Tuberville. He would be an instant upgrade. Proven winner IN the SEC. Probably overlooked by the programs ahead of us in the coaching hunt.
Plus, MU in Big 12 > TTU. MU in SEC > TTU by a much wider margin. Tuberville would love to be back in the conference.

Looks like Mizzou started 2 SRs on Offense & 4 on Defense last Saturday. Get healed up & they should be much better next year.

Smart move. With 4 other SEC jobs open right now, I wouldn't want to make a move either. Wait until next season when no one should be on the hotseat other than Pinkel so you would be the only SEC job available.

Pinkel is a good coach. Give him another year. If he does not tear it up in the east in 13, then you can think about canning him.
