This Mizzou game has the elements of being an Iowa State type of trap game loss. Missouri is nothing like their teams of the past. They’re physical, run the football well, and they’re solid defensively while OUs offense continues to struggle.

Nice to see a fair assessment thread started. I'm getting tired of starting threads in response to continual threads about Mizzou from disrespectful OU types.

I agree with your assessment, but believe we are a long shot to win. We definitely have a team thats capable of beating OU. I think it will be a low scoring contest and a battle of defenses. The SEC old guard should respect the defensive battle.

Having watched the A&M-Mizzou game, an upset will only be possible if Zollers has improved substantially. Missouri will not be able to run on OU like they did against MS State.

I don't know what's going to happen on Saturday, I think Mizzou has a solid chance, a stud running game and stud Defense always travels well. ESPN said MIZZOU has a 35ish% chance of winning, the homer in me thinks more like 43%, but whatever.

Your title is what is catching me..In my opinion, TRAP GAME is misused here. I get that we were never really rivals, just former conference members..but we go back...like to something called the Big 6, and an old timer tells me the Big 5. We played like 20+ times before Oklahoma A&T (?) even opened and became Okie St.
While not at a rival level...this game seemed big last year, and I can't imagine the kids that played in it, thought it was just another game. This game means something to the schools..to what end or level..I can't label it yet...but I can't label it a TRAP GAME for them at all...over looking us for LSU? Cmon..you think OU has trouble running the ball? Check out the cajuns..anyway , just my two cents..Go Mizzou, I completely expect 8 or 9 in the box by BV, thus making the true frosh beat him. I expect Eli & Moore to be prepared to deal with it. Mizzou's D is for real, our kicking game is a real problem. Kind of shame kick off is so early, but it fits perfect for the second week of deer camp. Good luck to both teams.

This.

If Zollers starts, there is no chance.

If Pribula starts there is a slight chance, but he is severely hampered in what he can do.

Mizzou will not quit, but I have ZERO confidence in our OC nor in Drink.

Drink is the most bipolar coach in America when it comes to aggression. In the same game he will punt on 4&1 from your 35 and then two series later go for a fake punt on 4th and 9 from our 35 and it backfires almost every time.

Our OC panics and abandons the run (exception being State) which puts pressure on our freshmen QB. Then calls QB runs on short yardage with 2 students backs.

This is the most inconsistently coached team I’ve ever seen.

What is it like to play in a fake field?

If Drinkwitz gets blown out, Eli is officially on the hot seat...however I can see OU having a first half like A&M had vs Carolina and then squeak it out in 2nd half

Mizzou is going to beat OU’s arse. The defense is going to shut them down

The reality:
1. We’re not going to win with Zollers at QB
2. We’re not going to win with Pribula at QB

So what I would prefer is #1. Get the kid some more battle scars from a great SEC defense from which he can grow.

Frankly, after the cupcake part of our schedule I saw nothing from Pribula that impressed me. 2025 is either 9-3 or 8-4. Who cares? Let’s invest in the future! Of course with a HC one foot out the door who knows what the future is.

No disrespect to our outstanding D, but ya gotta score at least a few points to win!

No disrespect to our outstanding RB room, but OU will be lying in wait against the run!

Jackson played against Bama – and played well. And . . .

are you saying Taylor W. isn't a capable replacement for RMT?
