Good story. Very interesting.

Missouri still not southern. Even Bill was neutral until they messed with his family, so he was really fighting against the blue rather than for the gray.

WTF kind of thread is this? You long for Missouri to be part of the South?
That’s like Texas saying who they really want to look up to is Alabama.
There are already enough Dollar Generals.

Having confederate guerillas and a few small armies doesn’t make Missouri southern Most troops from Missouri fought for the north, and the real Missouri “Tigers” were formed to defend against confederate guerillas

It’s an opportunistic story because it is an exact abstraction of Missouri’s position on the war as a state. MO voted like 99-1 to remain in the Union until the Union came in and seized arsenals anyway. It was at that point that the elected government went Confederate and went into hiding.

The story of one “bushwhacker” does not mean the state has a Southern heritage.

Great movie.

Dean Wormer knew not to mess with Mr. Wilson in the end

P.S. I have a newfound respect for Missouri

Definitely. I grew up in Minnesota.

But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still the greatest western of all time.
