Missouri unofficial championships

The Tigers have been declared champions twice by non-consensus polls.
1960 Dan Devine 11-0*
2007 Gary Pinkel 12-2
Neither of these national championships are officially claimed by Missouri.
The 1960 record was officially recorded as 10-1, but was later changed to 11-0 due to Kansas' subsequent forfeit.

2007 we were ranked #1 at the end of the season in both the coaches and AP
...... and then we played Oklahoma in the B12 championship. We finished #! in one of the BCS computer rankings, only bama would claim that shite.
1960 was a clusterfuk. They gave it to minnesota at the end of the regular season even though they had a loss and then MN lost the Rose bowl. We should claim it. Ole Miss finsihed 10-0-1 that year with a loss to a middle of the SEC LSU team

Where are you getting 2007 from? LSU got every selection per the actual records book and not Jim Bob's Personal CFB Site.

he was being sarcastic. i have no problem with bama claiming some questionable ones because odds are they were good the year claimed.
2007 mizzou did not have a great D
they gave up 24+ points in 8 games

You should have gone to Bama, they claim everything. I think one of the 40 championships they claim is like Chuck's Tire and Lube Poll that voted them #1 in 1812.

We might have a legit claim to 1960, but I would never claim 2007. It was a great team, but not NC caliber - not a strong enough defense. We don't claim what we aren't entitled to.

Recognizing iffy titles from the old days is usually fine.
However we've had organized national championship games since 1992.
And both major polls have awarded their titles after the bowl games since the mid 70's.
Anybody claiming anything other than AP, Coaches', or official national championship game titles since the mid 70's is a complete joke.
