Well unfortunately I don't make the call on whether or not Mizzou fields a college baseball team. I'd just as soon use the baseball program's funds for football or basketball.

Dude it's not baseball in its purest form. They play to go pro. My Nephew is going to be a junior this August(high School) this year he's playing summer ball in Kansas, American Legion or some shite since they select the best players in HS. He's playing that because pro scouts are at the games. A Royals scout was at his last game. He's been varsity since his freshman year in HS, made 1st team all conference both years at a 5A school. Also started Varsity for the football team since his Freshman year. Guess what....baseball is his 3rd favorite sport to play.lmao. Most think he'll go pro out of HS.
Then count the thousands of college players that play summer ball in the Cape Cod, Jayhawk, MINK, and various other leagues because they use wood bats and it prepares them for the pros, then count in the pro scouts that go to the summer games.
People aren't playing college baseball for passion and state pride, most hope to get drafted by a MLB team or independent pro team.

I'm in Missouri. Believe me they hate each other. Actually Mizzou don't even think about them. But MO State hate their guts. Really got heated over Mizzou blocking SMS for over 20+yrs with the name change.
