Mississippi State job vs Florida job

Now that the Bulldogs are world beaters I've been arguing with their fans that yes florida is a better job than mississippi state. These idiots seem to think Dan Mullen wouldn't even be tempted to leave for the Florida job. Thoughts?

He'd be an absolute fool not to leave for Gainesville. This season will never be repeated again at State. He's back to fighting for 8 win seasons once Dak leaves. At Florida he could bring back the offense of the Urban days and have them winning the East again

I agree 100 percent. I had a state fan seriously look me in the eye the other day and ask "Where would you rather live, Starkville ms or Gainsville FL" lol

Why leave a place where he gets the taste of being god for a year?

Didn't Gator fans argue he was a bad recruiter when they claimed they didn't want him back in the day?

shite, he has MSU #1. Idk if he can ever out do that. May want to create a dynasty at UF.

Because last season before the ole miss win there was talk of firing him. The fan base is delusional. They believe this season should be the norm. This season ain't happening again for another 25 years

The one scary part for State is that Florida has an easier schedule no doubt. That has to be appealing.
But he might love the job security. And who wants to climb another mountain before you have time to enjoy the view from the mountain you just climbed?

If I'm Dan Mullen and MSU is willing to pay me what UF is willing to pay, then I'm staying.
Think about it like this, MSU is used to mediocrity. What Dan is doing this season is unprecedented. There's nothing he can do at UF that he can't do at MSU and expectations at UF are exponentially higher. If he goes back to 6-6 two years from now MSU is not running him out of town given what he's accomplished already, UF will.
There is no point in him leaving.

he has a bigger recruiting base, for a team in the SEC EAST. I'd run there lol

Having read the story about the thug atmosphere that was allowed by Meyers which I suspect is part of Muschamp's problem (I do not think the players there want any discipline), I am not sure that I would go to Florida either. I think Mullen is a good coach, but I do think he will eventually exit Starkville.

fear the Muffinman. Wife has already spoke about this. If he goes back to Gainesville it won't be with her.

I assume you've been to Gainesville?

Honestly some coaches are content overachieving rather than making a leap to a program where you could potentially contend for multiple championships but also could be crushed by the weight of expectations.
Not every coach is the same.

Gators booed and heckled his arse off when he called a loss to Auburn less than 24 hours off an appendectomy that he checked out of the hospital against dr's wishes to coach with no pain meds. That's the kind of shite a wife never forgets. He'd have to divorce Megan before he went back to Gainesville.
He's also got a very, very strained relationship with Jeremy Foley. Foley wouldn't hire him and Mullen wouldn't work for Foley. So, there's another glaring problem with a return to Gainesville.
He's set to make more money at MSU than UF has ever paid a coach thusfar -- has full support of the AD and President and a school that has invested $100mil in giving him what he wants -- and has virtually guaranteed longevity that he wouldn't have at UF. Hell, MSU is starting a high school indirectly because of Mullen's concerns about Starkville Public Schools...
Why is it assumed that he loves the idea of the UF job simply because he coached there for 4 years? He hated Gainesville, Gainesville hated him, and he watched that place basically ruin his mentor. What does he actually gain by making that move?
The funniest part of everything is the "this is a one time thing that will nevAr happen again at MSU" bullshite line from people that didn't believe it could ever happen in the first place. I'm sure people told Art Briles, Frank Beamer, et al the same thing...
Fact is -- according to you recruiting gurus, this graduating class is probably the worst Mullen has recruited in his time at MSU.

I don't think the whole Florida is a better job is really debatable.. He has done great things in Starkville and I could see him staying
