Current weight hovers around 550 lbs.

Full growth weight is expected to be around 620lbs.

My brother is one of the two LSU vet school students taking care of him this year. Just sent him a text.

according to some of the posts on the video...the guy in the blue shirt is there all the time and can pretty much get Mike to do whatever he wants. i don't know if he's a university employee or not.

If you look closely at the video, there was a ball or something floating in the water that floated from right to left.....the tiger had it's attention on it. I think it simply jumped at whatever was floating, and probably does that whenever they want it jump into the water...

I've seen that guy out there several times. He goes out apparently 3-4 times per week and just hangs out with Mike. Every time he turned to look at Mike, Mike stood at attention

Tom the Tiger at Memphis is pretty cool too. I don't know the lifespan of a tiger, maybe an LSU fan can help here. I don't know if it is still the same Tom, but in 1991 at the Bama-Memphis game at Liberty Bowl Stadium Memphis introduced Tom II that day when he was a just a little guy about the size of a labrador. Anyone who knows how long the current Mike been around that could answer whether Memphis would still have the same tiger in 2013 that was a little fella in 1991?

Not that I know of, but I do know Tom and our previous Mike were brothers.

That was likely Tom 1. Memphis is now on Tom II. Tom II and Mike V were brothers, but we are now on Mike IV. Mike is better than Tom because Tom lives on a farm and Mike lives on campus.

Isn't he he guy that had thoughts of committing suicide and went over to visit Mike one day and somehow they made a connection and the guy felt like Mike saved his life?

Now the guy goes to visit Mike everyday, and the cat can literally pick the guy out of a crowd and will swim/walk over and interact with him through the glass.

A kindered spirit of sorts. There's something about the guy that Mike likes.

yes thats correct. still cant decide if thats really weird or kinda cool.

In the '80's, Mike's living quarters consisted of two cages - one inside the other. One night, some nut job went inside the outer cage and said he wouldn't come out until Jose Vargas came and talked to him. Sure enough, Jose showed up and talked the guy out of the cage. The police were hiding behind trees with guns drawn but they were more than happy to let Jose play hostage negotiator without any protection. Mike was agitated but didn't seem to mind too much.

Didnt some Tulane fans let mike out of his cage in the 80s or 90s?

That had to have been weird to just be driving down Nicholson and there's a tiger chilling on the side of the road

The Nicholson's declared bankruptcy years ago. They no longer have their farm. Memphis is on Tom III now.
