Seems like Leach was the one actually crying here...
I understand people don't like Wolken but he's not wrong here

Having seen him in action for several years, Leach would never win a SEC championship but his record of knocking a top ranked team at inappropriate time would scare the conference powers.
I admire him from afar but would not want to play one of his teams. He would have some highly regarded SEC coaches losing sleep at nights.

what is this about? I see Leach reacting to Wolken, but what was the context of their beef?

Also this old article needs to be posted on every Leach thread because its always worth reading again.
Leach Goes Deep
I have no idea how I'd never seen that, but thanks for sharing... Incredible.
Perhaps the most Leach thing of all time:
quote:
Up in the sky boxes, the wife of an Aggie assistant coach insulted every female Red Raider in earshot by saying that at least she lived in College Station instead of Lubbock. ("First of all, we just beat them, 56-17," Leach says when told of the incident. "By rights she should now be a Red Raider slave.")
Whether he wins or loses, he would be a great addition to the SEC... Just go to a West school not named Auburn so we don't have to play them every year. To many people's point, it's not that he fields a team that you anticipate winning every game... it's that they *CAN* win *ANY* game. They spend the season "punching above their weight class"... so while they definitely are going to lose some games inexplicably, they win most of them that way as well. Not super fun to be on the receiving end of that.
ETA: just noticed that article was written by the author of Moneyball... some people are just born with a story telling ability that is just insane. Takes story of blowout game and turns it into an epic telling of Coach Leach and his antics...
