Ole Miss was up 30-10 until Alabama started mounting a comeback and pulled with 4 until a fluke bounced pass.

This Bama team is not the same as the one Ole Miss faced.

I did neither of those things. Ole Miss did a lot of things right that let them win the game, but the poster to which I was responding managed to simultaneously miss the good things OM did and then credit them with things that never happened.

Yeah guys, all we got to do is get them to start Cooper Bateman, wait for unforced turnovers, and let the miracle tipped passed plays work out. We totally got this!

Yep, this is exactly what happened 2 years in a row.....nice excuse though

If MSU shuts down your run game like OM did then yes you will turn the ball over. So that's not gifting. OM has lived off creating turnovers so gtfo with that bs. They were up 30-3 on Bama. That's a beat down. Not a fluke. OM did what they wanted. Create turnovers and score on short field. They made, MADE, Bama play their game. And they paid for it with a beat down.

Too bad Mississippi State couldn't stop the run nor cause turnovers, you guys could have used both against Bama this year.

Bama has the distinct advantage of experience heading in, and it was a bad one

I think Saban learned a thing or two from last year's debacle, exemplified by no celebration happening during the CFP selection show thingie (Bama had one last year). I will also say Bama did get extremely lucky the committee decided to move Sparty over OU after they won the conference...dodged a bullet with that one

But I understand it because OU vs Clemson will be one hell of a fun game to watch

I agree with this, but neither is Ole Miss. If they played a rematch tomorrow Bama would likely win by a few TDs

But that is the nature of that rivalry and the SEC, last 2 years OM got Bama early on before they had worked out the kinks

Hey Ole Miss won..all credit to them. But just like LSU with 9-6, the last 2 years those wins were empty ones.

You got nothing to show for them, the hardware is in Tuscaloosa. It's like this is your Super Bowl, you win and then suck for a lot of the rest of the season.

Ole Miss won a game..and could not finish the job. Never has...never will.

I hope our punter doesn't do a swirly hoop and give them a game winner on the last play.

You are right...actually the Ole Miss OL is 100X better right now and they aren't relying on 165 lbs RB right now. Go see what they have done now that Freeze turned the O over to Werner. On Defense the light flipped on for a young LB and it seems like a few of the "younger" DBs are actually playing much better the past couple games. Unlike you I would not predict a score on a hypothetical game but it would a good one.

I reallllyyyy think this is going to be a great game. And I think y'all should hope Oklahoma loses to Clemson.

Meh. If any fan in the country outside of our fanbase said the statement "the worst matchup for us is __________" the answer is Alabama. I think we match up particularly well with Oklahoma, an Oklahoma with a revolving door offensive line and light in the pants front 7 that plays into what we do best on both sides of the ball. When you've got a dominant defense, dominant running game, and a weapon or two in the passing game to keep a defense honest, you're a bad matchup for anyone. Bama is the only team that fits that criteria. This notion that Oklahoma is the best team in the country is pretty funny

I think Michigan state is just royally fricked. I don't think they get to 17 points.

Alabama doesn't always look pretty. They just plod along and before you know it they're up by two touchdowns. The offense has made plays when they had to, and the defense...the front 7 in particular, is loaded to the gills with NFL talent that's in a different mold from everyone else. They aren't moved

Ole Miss fans can yap all day long about a game that has no relevance to the present day, but the reality is that there was zero joy on the faces of those MSU players.

I hope Sparty beats the shite out of Alabama. I don't want to live in a universe where Jake fricking Coker wins a national championship.

Yeah your quarterbacks weren't forced out of the pocket on those interceptions and our players totally didn't put their heads on the ball when they forced those fumbles. Totally unforced.

Spot-on. I haven't watched OU much outside of the Texas, Tennessee and Baylor game but i have watched MSU and Clemson and I am not worried about those two. OU may be legit but then so is Bama.

Regarding your comment, We really just choke the life out teams. We may not run up the scores but we get ahead by a couple of TD's and then just lock up with them, choke the life out of them and run out the clock. I really noticed it in the Iron Bowl during 4Q when we had that long. long drive with Henry. We didn't score but we chewed up nearly six minutes of clock and then pinned the Barn deep in their own territory, put a rested D back on the field, and AU was down by a couple of scores.

No one takes nothing away from Ole Miss wins against Bama....but you guys have literally won nothing. Ole fans have to remind everyone in every thread they beat Bama twice in the last decade. I would be disappointed in my seasons if I knew we had that potential. Ole miss is playing in the Sugar bowl because they are lesser of two evils. Florida or Ole Miss?

nice reward for going form 4 seed to 3 seed Sparty might have been favored against clemson.
