First off, how do you know how much his bill was?
Secondly, $95 at Chili's?
Lastly, contact the Tuohy's. I bet they'll take care of the waiter.

Ole Miss booster, a little insight into why he was adopted. He was enrolled at Briarcrest Highschool strictly on athletic ability.
That's just straight false.
He didn't play any sports until his senior year.
When the Touheys adopted him, he wasn't even capable of playing sports.
Did the adoptive parents have a huge impact on Oher going to Ole Miss? Certainly. Did they adopt him solely because they knew he would make a great football player for their alma mater?
GTFO!

Would they have adopted him if not for his outstanding football potential? I got the impression that no, they wouldn't have.

You got that impression from who? A couple of your pathetic drinking buddies who have a Monday morning quarterback opinion on everything from the color of grass to the theory of relativity? Did you read or research anything about the situation yourself, or are you just vomiting this shite because it's cool in front of your pathetic group of miscreants to talk shite about a situation you know nothing about.
Go back and read my posts a-hole. He didn't HAVE ANY POTENTIAL when they adopted him and he was ALREADY ENROLLED in the private school, that's how they met him!!! He was a very large black kid who had "played" a season of football at a public school in Memphis his freshman year and he didn't impress a soul. There is no.... NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO evidence to support your claims that the Tuohy's took in Oher to make sure that OM would do well in football and it has been investigated to within an inch of it's life. You stupid fricks continue to look at this thing from a damaged perspective and it's ridiculous and foolish.
Ask yourself this, would you take in a homeless orphan who had spent the previous 3 years running the streets stealing and doing God knows what to survive, putting your family in possible harms way should this kid be so fricked up that he might snap and have his way with your family? frick you. Until you have some sort of insight into this situation, shut your fricking mouth.

Pretty sure this is false. I'm pretty sure I watched him play basketball for at least two years. I am also 100% certain he played football his junior year at Briarcrest.

I waited tables in college when I was 18. It was 14 years ago, and I still remember some of the frickers who didn't tip me.
Not tipping = bullshite.

And if you don't tip once, don't bother going back to that restaurant. The kids talk. They know you didn't tip last time when you walk in the door.
Nobody will give you good service, and you'll be lucky if they don't spit in your food.

My wife manages a Steak House in Little Rock...There are plenty return guests that hardly ever tip or complain every time they come in...People are stupid

Jesus people. A very tall, very large man on a basketball court is going to have "talent" by simply standing under the basket and owning 5-8 slow bitches trying to play center in high school. I'm sure that he displayed what would be considered "athletic ability" as a freshman or sophomore on the BB court but to suggest that the Tuohy's had this unbelievable insight into what MIGHT possibly happen to a person from such a terrible background in the next 5 years is RE-frickING-TARDED. Coming from a broken home, extremely poor educational background, low morals and even lower expectations, there was about a 5% chance that he'd even graduate from highschool!!! He played his Junior year but didn't start until his senior year. The chance that he would go to OM were slim to none when the Tuohy's met him. So here's the plan that the Tuohy's thought up:
1) Seek out and identify a large black guy with no family who might, possibly, maybe be able to play football. Check
2) Adopt this huge guy into our home not knowing if he was damaged goods or would be able to assimilate into a normal white family dynamic. Check.
3) Get him on track through long hours of tutors and after school help to graduate from high school. Check.
4) Make sure that OM knew what we were doing so that they wouldn't recruit another OL who had good grades, established stats and more obvious upside than downside to take up his spot on the team. Check.
5) Force him to play football whether he wanted to or not, because we knew what was best for him (and OM hahahahah!!!). Check.
6) Get him into an OM program that was run by one of the most ignorant head coaches in all of Div 1 sports assuring that Oher would know nothing but failure and 0-8 SEC records. Check.
7) Struggle with him in his attempt to get his learning disability under control at the same time that he was trying to learn how to play football. Check.
8) Hope that he didn't revert back to his days of frustration and violence due to all the pressure that was being piled on him by his a-hole adopted parents who wanted nothing more than to take a WILD SHOT IN THE DARK on a black kid from a bad background who may or may not even get out of high school just so their Alma Matter MIGHT have a 1-20 chance of having what could be considered a serviceable OL in about 5 years (because no one could ever predict that he would be a first rounder with 2 years of playing time in highschool!!!!!) because they had nothing else going on in their lives and they needed something to COMPLICATE THEIR SITUATIONS JUST A TAD BIT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!
frick all of you, I'm done with this.

Please, have you ever been to Memphis? There are a lot of Kids in worse situations than Oher was. Why didn't the family adopt any them. He is a good guy, I met Oher in Highschool. As said in a previous post I have good friends who know him extremely well, but his athletic ability was a major factor in the adoption decision. He was accepted to Briarcrest to play basketball, a school well known for recruiting. The football coach saw skill and converted him. And if you don't think that family was pushing him to play for Ole Miss, then you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The family are good people and they did an admirable thing, but to say athletics for Briarcrest and Ole Miss didn't play a factor in the adoption process just means you are sadly mistaken.

It is false, he played football at Briarcrest his Freshman, Junior, and Senior seasons. I'm pretty sure his high school coach was hired on at Ole Miss as some kind of assistant around the time he signed with them too. Just sayin.

agreed the dad was a legend there in basketball. The mom also attended tohe school. Think she might have been a cheerleader??? idk anyway yeah of course they wanted him to go there. However, i think the ultimate decision was his. There was an investigation and they were cleared of any wrong doing in forcing him to go there

I think you must watch Keith Olbermann a lot. Seriously, how in the world can you get so worked up about comments/speculation/opinion on a freaking message board. In the real world people draw all sorts of conclusions based on little or no verifiable info... that's just the way it is. If that fact is going to frustrate you this bad, you're going to poison yourself and those unlucky enough to come across you. Get a grip, and take solace from your own beliefs.
Or, keep making Ole Piss fans look like frustrated namby-pambies.
