Some people are incredibly creepy on the internet. Some people have had stalkers, and some people have jobs where their anonymity is extremely important. And some people just don't want their picture all over the internet. Why does it have anything to do with self esteem? What if you get a lot of attention when you go places and it's nice not to have to deal with it here?

I don't get why the SEC Rant even has an IM thread. It makes no sense. If a thread gets derailed at night, that's fine, but there's no reason to have 20 pages threads designated for breaking the rules.
