This story will only grow legs if he says anything else negative about Alabama. The Alabama press will put pressure on Saban to give a clear and unambiguous answer "Do you want to be at Alabama?" If he doesn't - he'll lose a vast amount of goodwill and create a controversy that will ultimately undo him at Alabama - regardless of his success there. He won't get fired but the Honeymoon will end and the job will become a burden. I'd rather see Saban leave if he really doesn't like it there - Alabama will survive.
If Saban doesn't like it at Alabama I hope he ends up back at LSU after Miles gets fired.
He's upset a lot of people with those insensitive statements. Considering the job he has and the money he's getting paid he's showing an alarming amount of immaturity.

Miles is now doing his best in keeping Saban from returning to LSU. Everybody knows if Herbie wouldn't have run his mouth, Miles would be in Michigan and Saban would be back at LSU right now.

I'd hope bama fans don't make a big deal out of this and force the guy to say "I love living here"

You dont know dick...i mean nick. I really dont think Nick gives a shite where he lives but his family seems to really hate it in ttown. Nick never leaves his damn office anyway but apparently the 4 hours a day he is at home his wife and kids bitch about t-town and talk about much they loved Baton Rouge. Everybody loved them in Red Stick and they still have tons of friends here. It is not Nick it is his family.
Gumps, quit bitching. You can never compete with the hospitality of Louisiana anymore than you can outcook Southern Louisiana, but you better try. Take his kids deer hunting, and fly his wife and girls to Atlanta to American Girl and lunch in Buckhead, to the Summit to shop every Thursday, whatever. Geeze guys be nice to them, show them around, invite them over for drinks, they are good people, they don't bite.

Could be wrong but I think there's still contact cause the Sabans still have contacts here, especially his wife...but you won't get anyone here to admit it.

if I were the Sabans and I still maintained relationships back in BR/LSU, I probably wouldn't admit that to anyone in Alabama.
I don't think it's relevant anyway...it's only about winning at Bama for NS and he'll do that pretty well.
