The love LSU fans have for a guy who couldn't give two shits about their school is admirable and sad at the same time.

As an LSU fan I can't wait for the meltdown when Smith goes before chase.

You can't see crimson Alabama stickers on the paint job of my ratty old crimson Dodge Dart.

That'd be something if a guy who started one season then sat out a year still went ahead of a receiver who set multiple records and won the Heisman.

And would say more about the NFL if they pick a 1 year starter who quit on his team over the SEC GOAT at the position.

Chase joins the long line of LSU quitters, headlined by Lenny.

Quitter U. When the going gets tough, LSU enters the transfer portal.

Vulgar and yellow. Not a good combo.

Alabama had more players enter the transfer portal last year than LSU did.

Alabama: Players enter the transfer portal because they can't see the field and don't want to compete. Good riddance.

LSU: Players who WOULD see the field/start quit like bitches and quit because they see the writing on the wall. Leaves a shell of a team.

Hard to blame the players. It's top-down. When you got a coach that tries to duck Alabama, would you want to play for him?

YELLOW.

Now you're just making excuses because you didn't realize more Alabama players had entered the portal than LSU players.

Why do Alabama fans think O tried to "duck" Alabama? If that was the goal, they could've just did it again.

Not all on here are "quitters" Some are discipline departures, some simply looking for better individual opportunity or fit, and others likely "processed" like Saban gets blame. That said, there are certainly some who quit before the season or during the season in a selfish manner that hurt depth and roster projections for the team. There may actually have been some concerned over CV19, but most were likely just business decisions.

Timeline of 2020 departures and opt outs

LF7 certainly did quit on his team in order to protect himself. Business decision, yes. Is it wrong, It is his decision to make when balancing one more "meaningless" game for oneself against either jeopardizing generational wealth or possibly helping secure recognition and achievement that will last a lifetime for your teammates. I am not really aware of other LSU players that opted out of any other non-2020 or other years outside of LF7

The only ones I would categorize as "quitters" are Chase, Vincent, Shelvin, and Gilbert.

Wouldn't necessarily refer to that as a "long line."

Leonard Fournette had an ankle injury most of that season and its been since reported that the coaching staff held him out and it wasnt his decision.

At any rate, he was injured that year and its also somewhat hypocritical for Bama fans to bring this up when two of your players skipped your 2019 bowl game.

I can somewhat understand Chase's decision to sit since he hasn't really lost any draft stock but Shelvin and Vincent were baffling since neither will be high picks.

Gilbert was suffering from some mental issues and I hope he gets the help he needs.

Ryan Leaf was drafted ahead of Heisman winner Rod Woodson once.
