Par for the course when you are dealing with Florida and McElwain
Wants to negative recruit but calls you out when it comes back around.
Death threats but nothing really substantial
Reschedule a game like other SEC institutions do or make another school cancel a home game to accommodate

Florida coaches have a strange history of hoaxes. I guess Urban set the precedent when he faked his heart attack.

This is akin to Donald Trump saying that he would share his tax returns after the election.

That hurricane actually affected Columbia SC more than it affected Gainesville.
Yet we played USCe the same day as scheduled. (Think it might have been delayed a few hours, but still)

Both more believable than Butch saying other coaches are calling to tell him how good he’s been doing.
Probably Jon Gruden breaking down film again.

No.....wasn't it changed to Sunday?

Pretty sure Rachel Maddow did that for him.

I can't recall exactly. I am pretty sure the time was changed. Could have been changed to the next day.
ETA. You are correct. Was played on Sunday.
My point remains that we rescheduled like the LSU poster mentioned.

Mr. McElwain, what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things that I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

He claims to care about his players but keeps the details of death threats against them to himself rather than offering the specifics to proper school & police authorities? Instead he'd rather wait until the death threats become "unmanageable". Like until some nut backs up a death threat against a player by attacking him. Now that's caring.

He probably wrote them to himself so he has an excuse to leave Florida in his pitiful tenure. Florida is about to become irrelevant....sorry....more irrelevant.

This is why the SEC is the greatest conference in all of football.

This has become an even bigger deal than the Sumlin N****r letter. McElwain sounds like a gaping pussy.
Difference is... Texas fans probably sent Sumlin the letter.
And tgere is no question Florida fans are providing the death threats.

Would it surprise anybody if he ends up going to Oregon St (or some other west coast school) after this season?

Not at all. He wants out as much as Florida people want him gone.

At this point, think there's a decent chance this is how it all ends. The admin and HC don't get along, it's not going to end well.
