Aren’t his bets just a hedge/insurance on his mattress give away gimmicks? That and advertising.

Big "advertising expense" write-off for his taxes.

Mack is smart as a whip, he picks the team he thinks will lose. He promotes if you buy a mattress during the promotion and the team he picks wins the mattress is free. People think wow, if he wins I win, lets take the chance and buy a mattress because if he wins we win. Mack wins if he loses.

If Mack won the bet, he would of had to refund $19 Million plus to customers who spent over $3000 at his stores, dude sold over $1 Million of furniture Saturday alone

dude Won!

Just to be clear, there is absolutely ZERO way you can write off a gambling loss on your taxes unless it is against a gambling win. It's just the way the code is written. No reclassifying it as "adverting". You can write off any of the advertising that goes around telling everyone about it but you will get a visit from the IRS agent the second you try to claim a gambling loss against anything other than a gambling win.

Were his bets straight up picking the winner? Cause the spread was Bengals +4 so he would have won by picking the bengals using the spread
