Matt Jones would have been ungodly had he come around 10 years later after teams had stopped pigeonholing athletic QBs into pocket passers.

He played WR for Van Buren high school and transferred to Northside high school in Fort Smith as a QB.
Oklahoma wanted him as a WR but Arkansas offered him a chance at QB.

Loved Matt Jones on the Jags. He was one of our only good players at the time, but he liked Coke to much.

He was more into basketball than football and didn't put in the work necessary to be successful. He wasn't disciplined at all at Arkansas and that carried over to Jacksonville. Jack Del Rio had problems with him.
