That's a baaaaaaaaad white boy

6'6 240 and consistently outran DBs to the end zone, so many amazing highlights against auburn in that video.

I'd take him over Eric Crouch all day everyday.

Is Matt Jones the best running white QB of all time? He ran a 4.37 at the combine and was drafted 21st overall as a wide receiver

I thought it was TE. He was fun to watch. If it wasn't your team, he doing it against.

I really liked him, and he played for my former High School. He had the opportunity most only dream about, and he let it slip through his nose.

I certainly appreciate his service and time at Arkansas.

Its particularly impressive when you realize he improvised quite a bit of that. Also, while Jones was lethal in the triple and read option from the Shotgun Houston Nutt was very leery about calling those plays. If Jones played for Malzahn I think he'd have competed for the Heisman and if Auburn had a QB like him now no one would be picking them to finish last in the West.

If he coulda laid off the weed even a little bit, he coulda been like Ed McCaffrey in the pros. He was a great college player.

Without a doubt! Jones' style would fit with Malzahn like a glove.

Fixe that for you. The guy was a freak athlete and fun to watch. What's he up to now? Has he turned it around?

Will always be one of my all time favorite college players. 6'6 white boy that runs a 4.3, and doesn't give a F

I loved watching Matt Jones play. Dude was a baller and bad arse athlete. You know your elite when you can hang up the cleats and in a few weeks become one the better 6th men in college basketball as well.

Matt is a good dude. He had some bad influences around him.

I played ball with him a year ago. He's like a gazelle on the basketball court

Hell of an athlete.

The guy's stride is so absurd that you it's deceiving how much ground he's covering

Easily one of my favorite non LSU football players, probably my favorite

He had a radio show here in Arkansas and actually quit last week. From my understanding he didn't need the job and had other things he wanted to do more than a radio show. He may have had a problem with nose candy, (I don't know, I've just heard that) but he apparently handled his money wisely.

He was so fun to watch. That 2003 Ark/Tex game was a glorious combination of all of his skills.

I know a guy who played LB for Mizzou back when we played them in a bowl in like 03/04. He said they spent a lot of time focusing on how to stop Cendric Cobbs and not much on Jones. He said from the film they felt that people just took bad angles and that wouldn't happen to them.

He said once they hit the field, that he quickly understood that was wrong and the long strides he had were the reason. Said he's the best athlete he'd ever played against.

Arkansas always seems to have 1 freak athlete on their teams. Loved watching that dude play when it wasn't against us.
