I knew Manning hadn’t been great this year, but I was still a little shocked to see how close the numbers are here. Are these numbers right? SIAP

Mateer had decent numbers against UGA until you realize most of it came in the second half versus the 3rd and 4th string defense.

ESPN has Texas at #2 and Oklahoma at #3 for SOS
Sagarin has Texas at #2 and Oklahoma #5.
Looks pretty similar, just like their stats.

Exactly my initial point about "the smooth brains not being able to critically think".
Texas played tOSU and Tenn
OU played Michigan and Georgia.
While Georgia is on par with tOSU, Michigan (losses to Western Michigan and Iowa) is not close to Tenn.
There is a pretty large gap in difficulty in those 4 opponents, plus 2 of Mateers 3 turnovers against Georgia aren't included in said "stats".
Point being while they might be ranked close in SOS on paper, theirs a large gap in the real world.

mid 3rd quarter OU was outgoing uga by 50 yards …. the turnovers were the killer . OUs defense was awesome until they tired out late in the game . Now saying Mateer was great or anything just saying the offense was moving the ball thru the air. Uga dline vs the rush is elite .

So you meant to point out that Texas and OU have very similar SOS as part of your overall point that their very similar passing statistics actually show that Mateer sucks but Arch doesn't..... You can claim there is a big gap in difficulty but it really isn't.

He was 15/19 for 140 yards in the first half.
Doesn’t excuse the his gift for committing cataclysmic mistakes and nearly single-handedly torpedoing any hope for our season, but thought I’d provide more context that his passing stats were primarily achieved in the first half when it was very much Georgia’s first team defense.

I think you missed the point. The stats Mateer put up weren’t as impactful, as evidenced by 2 losses (who cares about passing for a TD in garbage time?). That said, arch has a revamped running back room, and maybe the second best wr room in the country and is putting up stats where a debate like this is actually happening.
