What NFL team most closely resembles your SEC team in terms of national perception, performance, history, etc.?
To me Alabama is the Green Bay Packers.
I posted this on another thread on another part of the board.
So what NFL team does your team resemble?

If you want to find a comparable NFL team, Alabama is the Green Bay Packers. They aren't in the biggest media market, but they are a national brand. They were both built around two legendary coaches. They have both been around and winning since the very beginning. Both have absolutely rabid and demanding fanbases. Both have gone through tumultuous periods, but they always bounce back.
There are NFL franchises out there that have more money, a better media market, but does anyone dispute that The Packers are one of the NFL very best franchises? The Packers are synonymous with the NFL. The University of Alabama is one of those teams that can be said to synonymous with college football.
So what NFL team does your team resemble?

Is this a historical thing or a current team thing.
Because comparing the current packers to the current 'Bama team is pretty fricking laughable.
ETA: I'd say LSU resembles the Broncos. We win with defense, the running game, and an option QB who isn't the greatest passer around.

Greenbay has a mediocre defense.

It's more a historical thing rather than current. The reasons I picked the Packers was because of historical success, small media market, and continued success over a long period of time.
I'm bored and there are 5 weeks before the game.

High powered offense run by a top tier QB, along with mediocre defense.
Yep, sounds like Bama football to me. Can I get an RTR!

Nah, Alabama can beat the Green Bay Packers easily, as long as they don't beat themselves.

Alabama is more a Baltimore Raven or Chicago Bear,
LSU is NEW ORLEANS SAINTS/GREEN BAY PACKERS

Both have very prestigious trophies named after former Championship winning coaches as well.

Reading comprehension is lacking today.
I'm not comparing this season. Obviously that wouldn't work. I am referring to history and national perception over a long period. Not simply this season.

current ole miss = 2008 and 2009 detroit lions

LSU would be the Steelers... obviously not as decorated though... but we win with D, odd quarterbacks that usually get it done when needed, and a power running game that is centered around the results and less around the individual

I would have said the Tigers more closely resembled the Pats as a team that always had good teams but recently came on to start winning big, but the Saints could be seen as comparable (mostly because they share a fanbase and culture by virtue of being in the same state.)
