I thought balls had those white rings on the ends. Just saw an NFL game where the ball had no markings on it.
Is the white rings only on balls sold in stores?

NFL balls don’t have those. I don’t think they ever have, or they at least haven’t in several decades.

High school has rings all the way around. College half way and none for pros. Stripe is what the receiver looks at while trying to catch the ball

Pro balls have not had stripes ever as far as I know.
From what I understand, the college ball always had stripes and the nfl wanted to be different. Seems too simple though….haha
