If they wanted to, the poll voters could manipulate their ballots in such a way as to put a 7-5 team in the NC game, and that team could, in turn, have a great night and pull off the upset. But it still wouldn't make them legitimate national champions because it would be bullshite that they were playing in the game to start with. Same goes for Alabama. Like most of their claimed national titles, the 2011 one is bullshite.

How come some 'voters' voted Oklahoma State 4th, 5th, or 6th in their polls. How can anyone who watches college football justify voting Oklahoma State that low? Yes I'm still pissed about the rematch. LSU won in Tuscaloosa, but nooo it wasn't good enough we had to do it again. The offensive gameplan didn't help either

It only upsets me as there is a segment of the LSU fan base that actually believes this shite and constantly brings negativity to the team. Maybe the float creators actually aren't part of this segment, but I don't think it helps the perception of our program at times when we have ridiculous "fans" so unappreciative of our program and school.

No, you're upset because Miles turned in one of the all-time clunkers for a coaching performance in the national championship game. It was out there for everyone to see on the biggest stage of all, and football fans around the country saw it on national tv. You want to be mad at someone, anyone, anything, so you don't have to be upset with Les Miles. There are people that have a different opinion than you, and it doesn't make them good, bad, right or wrong -- just different than you. Get over it.

I think I stated very clearly I was embarrassed by the preparation by our offensive coaches (includes Miles).

We have segments of our fan base that have wanted to have Miles fired for years.

The LSU fan base creates the crazy ideas that JR was not a great QB, Lee was the perfect QB, and that Miles doesn't play young players. We also have fans still obsessed with Saban and think he is the anti Christ because he went to Bama.

They also forget that LSU has lived off of in state basketball recruits and the state was down in obvious talent for awhile.

Even though I can't stand the arrogant loyal fan bases that Bama and Texas have I can't stand how we have so many chicken littles in the LSU fan base.

Bama kicking butt and dominating in every phase of the game didn't help as well

I never said LSU would have won on 1/9 had they showed up on offense.

Seems to be going out on a limb to have Large groups of people potentially hate you. I hated the loss, but that's overboard

You could say Alabama hadn't even accomplished much while LSU had already beaten the top contender and won their conference.

Okay, what does that have to do with the fact that one game was a BCS bowl and the other was the BCSNC game?

quote:

It was more a joke about Alabama's lame excuse for losing to Utah's shitty mid major program at the time.

I've never made excuses about that game. We played shitty and Utah beat our arse. It's as simple as that.

It still won't change the fact that LSU was also a great team and in a year like last believe LSU should be proud of what they accomplished.
I don't think anyone is saying that LSU shouldn't be proud of what they accomplished.

That's what that krewe does, they make fun of people that take themselves too seriously. My cousin, who rides in that krewe is an LSU grad, season ticket holder, and big-time LSU fan.

Exactly. I love these Bama fans pointing at this as proof how our fans are relentless. Actually, I won't disagree with the second half of that statement. Just that this example is proof of it.

For those who think otherwise, they have no idea at all what Mardi Gras is really about. The cool thing about D'Etat is that they have kept to Mardi Gras' traditional satirical roots. They make fun of absolutely everyone in this state that makes poor and stupid decisions.

I can understand Bama fans not realizing this. But those of you from LA that are so astounded baffle me. Have you ever been to Mardi Gras? Ever? If so you've totally missed the point of it. Morpheus, D'Etat, Krewe De Vieux, Chaos, all keep with the satirical tradition of Fat Tuesday.

That is all this is. US making fun of OURSELVES. It happens every single year. Get over it or don't go to the parades. Mardi Gras hasn't changed for 150 years and it sure as hell isn't for you dramatic cry babies that can't handle it.

Awesome post! Finally, someone who knows what the hell they are talking about.

The Bama fan base is toxic waste (Harvey Updyke and Bryan Downing). When we beat them this fall, they will pipe down again. I was at the game 11/5, and they kissed my arse after the game. They weren't singing any tune about coulda shoulda woulda won. That only occurred when they woke up the next morning and started to feel self righteous and entitled again. If order was restored on 1/9, let chaos reign Nov 3, 2012.

I'm probably older than you; to give you a hint (about my age) I have experienced NCs since the 60's. In fact, I was alive when the barn won their previous NC.

I find it funny that the people who are the most angry and insulted by this float are LSU's most redneck fans.

That's because they're the ones that by and large don't ever visit New Orleans (and if they do don't venture off of Bourbon St)....And they certainly don't understand the satirical aspect of Mardi Gras.

I don't see a big deal in the whole NC thing since the teams finished 1-1 in the season series. It was the whole flaw of the rematch talk since it started on the eve of the nov. 5th game.

I think most LSU fans realize that LSU has never been the media darlings to the point they would have been awarded a rematch opportunity had they lost the nov. 5th game.

I think most LSU fans realize Les shite the bed on Jan 9th. He didn't have his team prepared, and his stubborn arse refused to make a change when it was obvious his so-called gameplan produced nothing.

I laughed when I saw the pic. That float didn't say anything that I didn't say after that game. What's there to be mad at? It's frickin Mardi Gras.
