Instead, NFL Draft insiders are rumbling that all signs point towards Lattimore forgoing his senior year in order to declare for the 2013 NFL Draft.
The move would come as a surprise to many, especially those in Gamecock Nation.
Immediately after his serious knee injury, Lattimore was expected to return to the school as he rehabs his knee. It was just a few weeks ago that South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier seemed positive that Lattimore would return to the team, but a lot can change as the draft approaches.
For Lattimore, there is no doubt that a team will draft him. He has exceptional talent when he is 100 percent and a team will take a flier on his raw talent despite suffering serious knee injuries in back-to-back seasons.
There are no projections as to where Lattimore will get drafted, but it is hard to call declaring for the 2013 NFL Draft a bad move for the injured running back. Instead of rehabbing at the college level and never returning to the field, Lattimore will be able to get the best of the best medical attention while collecting a NFL game check.

Makes sense. Another injury could very well put a permanent end his chance at big $.

Makes sense...like the article says...he has to rehab anyway, may as well do it with the best trainers possible.
Good luck to him....and athletes should always take the money. You can come back and get the degree later.

I don't blame him. See if he can rehab and get some guaranteed money from someone and hope he doesn't get hurt like that again. I feel bad for him, what a good player.

Best of luck to him. Great player and an admirable person. One of the opposing players I have respected the most over the past few years. I wish he could have stayed healthy. I have a feeling he'll do well in the NFL. Kids like don't stay down long.

He is a truly a special player and it was heartbreaking to see his knee injury. I have no doubt he will succeed at the next level.

Just lends credence to my theory that Spurrier does not really inspire love and loyalty in his players. It seems his players treat playing for him as more of a business relationship.
I've really never heard any player talk about him with any real fondness--especially quarterbacks. They don't talk bad about him. They just don't seem to have any real feeling at all.

How has that changed? Do you really think an NFL team will take a project with a busted wheel over Lacy? Come on now.
Latt will go to someone, but it won't be in the first 4 rounds.

If he shows up at the Combine and/or Pro Day and participates and looks good then maybe.

Hopefully he'll drop to the third round or so and the Falcons can snatch him up
