Reed has only started 3 games this season compared to Sellers starting 6, and yet Reed has one more TD pass than sellers, has 41 more rushing yards than Sellers, has 2 more rushing TDs than sellers, and has had 4 less interceptions than Sellers (Reed hasn’t thrown one yet).

A&M didn’t have to throw the football while our OL was pushing them around in the second half. But he had easily the best pass of the night.
I think A&M is too one-dimensional with Reed, personally.

Reed completed two passes Saturday and people have lost their minds. If a dual threat who is a competent QB comes in to replace a pure pocket guy, defenses are almost always gonna have some problems adjusting.
Need to see Reed when a team has a week to prepare for him as the starter. Will be interesting Saturday. That's a grown man Dline he'll be facing.

I know this much. Straight line track speed does not always translate to football speed during live games. There is no doubt that Reed has elite level shiftiness and insane quickness.
Sellers does NOT have the same elite level running ability as Reed. Easy to see that on film.
Kinda reminds me of Haynes King for A&M. Kid has elite 60 yard and 100 yard track speed. He had an insanely fast shuffle time. He was well trained there. However, on the football field that speed never translated. He needed perfect lanes and was slow when lateral moves were needed.
Reed is ankle breaking elusive and that's not part of a 40 yard dash. Johnny Football is the perfect comparison. JKK was not track fast whatsoever (4.68 his best ever) but on the field no one caught him. Go figure.
Just watch what Reed does against LSU and others. Compare that to Sellers. There is a night and day difference.
Watched the USC - OU highlights. Man, OU is one terrible, terrible football team. My God. More my take-away. Our OL is going to be successful against Gamecocks DL. Yes, I said it.

Yeah, but at 6'3" and 245 lbs, Sellers can truck you. Whimpey little Reed can't do that...

No sure about "whimpy" comment, you will probably regret that but ABSOLUTELY. Sellers is a big QB and has the body to take hits and use his size as a physical advantage when running.
This is exactly what we dont want Reed to do. Reed, like JFF, is about being elusive and extremely different to tackle. He embarrasses defenders. And we certainly do not want him to be taking direct shots. Yes, he is skinny. That also gives him a great ability to shift his hips and sneak in between two tacklers.
Sellers seems like a perfect NFL QB. More of a pocket guy that can run. He has a very bright futute if they can develop him. Reed definitely needs to add 15-20 lbs overall but is always going to look like Jayden Daniels. But not a bad comparison either if he can get there throwing wise.

I would take a healthy T. Green over both.

why throw if running is working?

Because eventually teams will stack the box and dare you to throw. I expect to see lots of cover 1 and cover 0 from SC on Saturday if reed is playing.

Yes, but the "2 throws" comments are just about the LSU game. Reed didn't need to throw in that game.

USCjr might can keep it close for a quarter

USCe is a clone of A&M. Fast, nasty defense and streaky offense. This will be a close game

it was the same with USC v OU - and turnovers were what led to the 26 point margin - none for USC and 4 for OU -
I expect the same Saturday night - turnovers will provide the leverage for whichever teams wins -

As an LSU fan Reed single handily kicked our arse.
No he didn't. Our defense in the second half had just as much if not more to do with A&M curb-stomping LoSerU. Defense found a way to get to Nuss and he just folded.

Reed did the same thing to LSU three times.
