It’s all farts in the wind at this point. 75% of the players in the portal have had little to no playing time and half of them probably will have little to no playing time moving forward as well.
What really matters is experienced/proven players moving around. Those are the ones that can make or break your team.

I can't speak for other teams, but many come to Georgia to get coached up for the next level.
Kirby tries to avoid those who are only looking for more money.

So Kiffin just had his office door closed while someone else got a random D-2 quarterback on campus? You think he played zero part in that? Your comment makes zero sense lol

LSU lost 32 players
Also LSU has gained 29!

I believe 247 just ranks the classes as is. On3 looks at what you lost vs what you gained. Both can be right.
Both probably weight their high school ratings too highly. The recruiting services look bad when 5*’s flop and 2*’s overachieve.

We traded a lot of guys that stunk on offense and alot of guys that didn't see the field over the players playing like doo doo.
We are bringing in mostly players that already produced elsewhere
Its not as black and white as you making it.

ON3 grades who a team loses in the portal.
That is irrelevant when considering who a team brings in.

So I usually care about their rankings more...more impactful for the team if you also add in who left.
Out of all of the players who left Florida. Who was impactful that you wished stayed? I know you guys didn’t want your starting QB back . So how many?
Let’s say a program had 20 players leave . My best guess is there were maybe 3 ( and that’s generous) of who you hated to see leave.
LSU for example lost a bunch that we would have helped pack if given the chance. Just because they were 4 stars in HS shouldn’t factor in to the grade that On3 gives when they transfer. I think Jardin Gilbert for example was a 5 star or 4 star who was a completely awful player. I’m happy he is gone. He was a liability , but his star rating from HS shouldn’t factor into portal rankings imo.
That makes zero sense.

Every recruiting guy out there will tell you they don't evaluate the portal very well. Impossible to with so many guys in and out in such a short amount of time.
It's a crapshoot and the best you can do is fill needs with the best player you can afford that fits what you are doing. Hopefully they fit from a chemistry standpoint also.

If you lose your entire offensive line to the portal and replace all those guys with wide receivers you will find it is very relevant.

That's total in the portal, some have already taken their names out to stay at LSU. Nobody knows for sure if any, or all that are still in will go other places, or possibly stay. That is the point I'm making.

I can easily prove that the methodology that 24/7 uses is fundamentally flawed and wildly inaccurate.
Last season, 24/7 ranked LSU’s transfer portal class #1 and their overall roster 6th most talented. They finished 7-6. The 6th most talented roster does not go 7-6 regardless of coaching.
Last season 24/7 ranked Indiana’s transfer class #35 and their overall roster 72nd most talented. They are 15-0. The 72nd most talented roster does not go 15-0 regardless of coaching.
24/7 is obsolete.

If you call breaking even losing players who sucked and replacing them with mostly players who preformed well at their schools even ,good for you.

Agree completely.
Texas won the portal
Texas should be ranked #1 going into the 2026 season

Our Oline was maybe the worst in college football this year. It’s not really that relevant lol. They literally can’t be worse.
